    Hi!

For now, I can't find a way to route incoming MIDI signal like:
My MIDI controller ---> VST Arpeggiator (Kirnu-Cream) ---> VST instrument.

E.g.: I've created two instrument tracks:
    - Track 1 as instrument track, hosting "Kirnu-Cream" arpeggiator (VSTi, but acting as "MIDI effect" mainly, no audio output).
    - Track 2 as instrument track, hosting any virtual (VSTi, VST3i) instrument, such DUNE 2, Sylenth1...

I precise I don't want to use bundled arpeggiator like Note FX (recognized as "Effect" in SO3).

Is it a way to do this? (doing MIDI routing in REAPER, SONAR, Live etc... is VERY EASY).

I can't find any info about MIDI routing in SO3 manuals, dedicated Groove3 tutos, can't find relevant YT videos, Google and forums searches (Google was added later, to prevent stupid replies)...

Any useful help will be appreciated (TIA).

EDITED: in my initial topic, I've indicated (by error) Sugar Bytes "Effectrix" as MIDI effect, but Effectrix is an audio effect(s) triggered by MIDI (internal step-sequencer), it alters incoming audio, not MIDI messages... Sorry for this mistake.

I'm 52 yrs old, have strong experience in computer science (30 yrs) :guru: also I have indicated I've searched in manuals, tutos (Groove3), YT (meaning YouTube), forums etc... and your suggestion is => type "studio one 3 midi routing" in "Gogolle". Are you serious dude?

    1) Did you bother to check any of the links on that search link?

    2) Don't ask for help if you don't like what you get back.

    1) Yes (since many days) most informations concern SO v1 or v2, nothing about v3. They're a lot of differences between SO3 and previous versions.
    2) Assuming Google search (or YouTube, DM etc) isn't a help for me, I'm active on AS forums, also and AZ, I'm not a newbie . Don't worry, I'm not a nasty guy.

Hope it's possible to do this, otherwise Studio One 3 Professional isn't a serious DAW (aka: a professional toy)

Cheaper DAWs (FL Studio, SONAR, REAPER, Tracktion, Cantabile) or competitors (Live 9 Studio, Cubase, Samplitude, even Logic on OS X), can do it without any problem!

    Thanks

Complaining that "other daws" can do it it's unhelpful. Just choose another daw, problem solved.

I can do it btw. You need to play a little bit with settings of each tracks.

Useless reply as long as you'll don't give a clear explanation. Unhelpful when a guy simply replies "I can do it btw..." No screen capture, no useful link(s), no explanations = what's these sh1tty replies ? :dunno: Assuming your message as troll.

I also couldnt find how to use Kirnu Cream in studio one3 , for xfer cthulhu which is another arpegiator plugin you have to use the IAC channels to send midi from the plugin to the virtual instrument. but with that plugin I dont know I hope someone know,

Thanks for this first (sense) reply!
However, I'm not sure IAC are existing on Windows platforms (need more deep searches).

Not saying you're a nasty guy, just that one should be careful about how one replies
    to those attempting to assist.

One more question, have you asked someone in the official S1 forum or
    the development team?

MIDI routing should be as simple as selecting in and out sources.
Make sure that your controller is setup properly in Studio One preferences
for channels, channel splitting and etc...

On a personal note, I uninstalled S1 when latest versio of Pro Tools became available.
My main SAW is Reaper and I like Samplitude. PT 12.3.1 is great so far for audio
and will be pushed to see how it handles MIDI soon.

Thanks for this precision, as you can see in my signature, SO3 isn't my main DAW, I'm using it since couple of weeks as trial. My favorite DAW is... REAPER.

On PreSonus forum, it's the silence about MIDI routing, too. Very strange, aren't? :)

I'm not a pro musician/engineer/C.M. but a simple hobbyist (like many of us, here), unemployee (not rich). I like SO3 GUI, console, browser & many other goodies. But if I can't route MIDI signal between tracks, I'll consider another high-end DAW on my wish-list, instead of SO3.

Thanks but where do you select MIDI in and out source (in track or in bus)?
I'm using a "simple" unreferenced MIDI controller (Fame Digital KX61C - seen as WORLDE CONTROLLER), it sends only MIDI datas (MIDI-Out mode) for notes/CCs/PCs-BSs etc, but doesn't have "MIDI-In" feature. USB2 connection. I'm not SO3 official user but I test DAWs, plugs, banks etc before buy (in particular for expensive products - sometimes abusive prices like iZotope/Steinberg and co. - C.M. is a business, like another businesses such games, flight simulation...)

I admit it's very finicky but this is the best way I've found to get it working: (PSR 292 is my uh, "Midi controller")

Just change the "IN" on your VST to Kirnucream

The secret is to mess around with the Monitor (Blue). It's very easy to click the wrong thing and screw it all up. It doesn't really lock on to my controller and I have to make sure monitor is selected because it moves around when you're working in the daw.

But.. it lets you play and record things at least.

See, I recorded a "Trance Arp"... while bashing on keys

Audiowolf has it down; just keep the monitor button of the arpeggiator on - that is all (I have tested it with stock arpeggiator, since I don't use any arpeggiators).
Oh, I see the 'buttons for destruction of eloquence' are gone - so thumbs up for that!
Oh, edit - I was looking at the wrong pane. So, the cultural apocalypse continues...

Thanks Audiowolf and ddoctor, I'll try this ASAP !!! Thanks for scrren captures. My console is not exactly the same I don't see the "magic" IN, OUT and CHANNEL, shown by this capture:

Okay, I suppose I've missed something, but your first capture may help me (give me a "direction"), thanks so much!

That console stuff only shows up on the left side of the DAW, you have to click on the "i" button in the top left to open it.

THANKS A MILLION audiowolf! yesterday I've looked in Inspector but I don't have seen nothing about MIDI, but this evening, it works!

It's a great tip => I'll vote to you for president! :like:

Be sure your help (with enclosed captures) is very precious. Really appreciated.
    Thanks x 10000!

Here's a couple screenshots that show every bit of the routing required in SO3. It's pretty easy once you see how it's done. Alternately, if you're like me and don't want to clutter your project with 2x tracks for this, grab Plogue Bidule and use it for stuff like this, then it'll all be on one track. I use it ALL the time for stuff like this now. The third picture is an example showing what I mean w/ Plogue.
