    Hey guys,

on my current project the band I'm going to record want a drum sound similar to The Wombats!
The reference song they presented to me is "Moving To New York"...
Do you guys have any tips or tricks to achieve a drum sound like that or advice on any recording techniques? (mixing, too)

Would love to know your thoughts on this.

    Greetings,

    Josh

Sounds like regular indie-rockband setup (top + phase-flipped bottom mic on snare, front head bass drum mic + subkick, OHs, hihat, toms, etc). It's important to have a good sounding drum and a good drummer. Roll-off everything that doesn't need low-end (hats, OH, toms below their fundamental, etc).
Sorry if I can't be any more helpful.
