    Hi everybody !

I'm testing S1 v3.1.1 after 3 years on Cu5. In x86 because I have many x86 only plugs and JBridge is my friend for the few x64. My VST3 are all installed in Stein/Cu5/vst3 folder, except 1 in Programs/Common Files. The latter shows up, but none of the ones in the vst3 folder have been found.

I added the path in the options, but still nothing is found. I'm quite lost and have browsed Google for an hour, but no solution. I especially use wavez plugins, C'd version even though I bought the silver bundle. More comfortable. The shell is in vst3 folder, I tried to copy it in Common Files, but this was a fail too.

Does anyone have a solution ? And maybe does someone know if there's a way to find a plugin path ? I'm not sure about the one from Common Files, as I've several versions of this one in different paths (don't ask me why, I don't remember. I must have had a good reason back then).

    Thanks in advance ! Max

You need to put (x64) plugins in this folder "C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3" in order to be scanned by S1

That's what I thought. My VST3 shell is x86 unfortunately (I never managed to patch the x64 wavez plugs, dunno why), so it couldn't work. Still didn't manage to make S1 scan vst3 folder...

Have you tried adding the original Waveshells directory to the scanned VST paths?
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Waves\Waveshells for Window 64bit
    C:\Program Files\Waves\Waveshells for Windows x86

Yep, forgot to mention it. But only the VST2 showed up. And you know like me that you cannot work with waves VST2. Workflow-unfriendly !

EDIT : deleting the VST2 dll doesn't work. There's a real problem with vst3 detection here. There are Voxengo plugs in my stein/cu5/vst3 folder, don't show up either. Desperation !

EDIT 2 : I think I'll work with the search function for the inserts waiting for a solution. But I'll need VST3 sooner or later... thanks for those who helped me so far !

You don't need to add your VST3 folder to Studio One for it to find them. I use VST3 plugins and they are absolutely not on my VST folder list in SO3 options

Here's where I install all of my VST3 plugins... or more accurately they just install there by themselves and I let them have their way.

    32bit

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\VST3

    64bit

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3

Obviously make sure the things you put in there have a .vst3 extension on the end.

And remember, there's no need to add those paths to your Studio One options vst folder. It will just find them.. at least it did for me :bleh: In fact I'd remove that folder from your search list because I imagine it will slow things down unnecessarily.

YOU DA MAN BRO. THE REAL MVP. Works 100%, didn't notice there was an x86 Common Files in 7 years of W7... thanks a million times ! Let the real testing begin.

Good job getting it to work! :hifive: It really is confusing, I had the same trouble, googling and searching through my pc for folders to find nothing. If you have any questions about studio one feel free to ask, though there are much more experienced people on here than me.

I tested it deeply yesterday, the only thing I can say is : wow. Perfect workflow, everything is intuitive and well-thought. I love the fact that you can save models with your tracks, presets and plugins. The song + project idea is wonderful. DDP export rocks (we're autoproducing an album with my band). Multiple recording is amazing. Curve automation leaves me breathless. Directory tracks becoming a group... COPYING PLUGINS FROM A TRACK TO ANOTHER BY A SINGLE CLICK&MOVE... I discovered a whole new universe of easy working and pleasure. I now understand why everybody says that Cubase is complicated. I don't even have any function I don't understand, no more question to ask. Wonderful. Thanks again audiowolf, without a solution I might have lost the will to try it.

I tested S1 v2 2 years ago, but it pissed me off after 30 minutes and I uninstalled, don't remember why. I'm so glad I gave v3 a chance.
