I am looking for a DAW which has automation shapes drawing capabilities like Studio One (square, triangle, saw, etc) and also wet dry parameter for each insert FX (similar to EnergyXT):

If there is a way to automate wet dry for insert fx in Studio One, I would be all set since it's my # 1 daw. TIA

Is it not the same automating the actual wet/dry parameter in your FX plugin? or you could use a send which is easy to automate (right click on it).

As for automation shapes.. fl studio does that quite well

I doubt the LFO is what the OP searches.
You can draw automation curves like that in Cubase.

Why not use the plugin as a send instead of as an insert? Then you could easily automate the wet/dry parameters.

In Tantra's case, you could also simply automate its internal wet/dry knob.

To be fair, Ableton doesn't have true wet/dry for VSTs

But I know what you're getting at. Making a duplicate rack and mixing them with gain. Same thing.

Yep and it will not be a pleasant job to draw all these waveforms.........

I have yet to discover the tool to draw waveforms any other way than manually.
But maybe I'm blind because of all the masturbation.

In Ableton, I have a dedicated wet/dry rack, with wet/dry mix control and volume control for each signal.

easy to do with a rack, LFOs and boom. ok the LFO is a bit limited. so yeah my call was right.

@everyone that said about Ableton's envelopes....

    ...yeah

But fuck it, you can do clever things with using the draw tool on adaptive grid then deleting points. It's not as good as having true snap or waveform drawing, but as I've said before, working with less than ideal tools is one of the best ways to draw out creativity

Thanks for all the feedback. After playing around with some of the recommended DAWs, I still keep going back to Studio One which just feels so much at home for me. I think the developers of this gem have their brains wired the same way as I do. Right after Studio One's automation shapes, I think Ableton's modulation is the closest to what I want to achieve. I prefer to stay away from LFO powered envelopes since I want to have full visual overview and control over the duration of the envelope automation.
As to the wet and dry parameter of insert FX, I use many products that don't have this natively. Also, I don't think automating the sends in Studio One will be a valid substitute but maybe I am wrong. From what I understand, you can either fully send the signal to the FX bus, thus muting the source channel. Or you can leave the source channel audible. With the first option, when automating the send amount, it is basically just automating the level output. The more I send, the louder it is. With the second option, the source channel always plays at the same level in the background. In contrast, with a proper wet/dry parameter, as I increase it, the source level goes down by the same amount as the FX level goes up. If I decrease the wet/dry parameter, the FX level goes down and the source goes up by the same amount.
Am I missing something or just need to stop taking drugs?
