He was diagnosed with cancer almost two years ago, so he knew he was going to die. The album was released just last week. It's like his final word and farewell to the world.

I usually don't care about the deaths of rock stars and other celebrities, but David Bowie was not "just" either of those. He was an example for artists (musical and otherwise) for successive generations to follow. I feel as though a longtime friend has died.

When the Blackstar video came, I suddenly realised how much Bowie have influenced me in a subliminal way. His death breaks my heart in two...

    RIP

    Tony Visconti wrote on facebook:
"He always did what he wanted to do. And he wanted to do it his way and he wanted to do it the best way. His death was no different from his life - a work of Art. He made Blackstar for us, his parting gift. I knew for a year this was the way it would be. I wasn't, however, prepared for it. He was an extraordinary man, full of love and life. He will always be with us. For now, it is appropriate to cry."

thank you for everything David, r.i.p. ...

Yeah ... got the sad news today on work!

One of the few really interesting and creative musicians in popular music in the last 30 years!

    I´ll play some vinyl tonight!

One of the greatest ever.. I wonder how it is up there now.. Heroes from my youth is checking out one after one.. The last 5 years been terrible.

Lemmy Just two das after christmas last year, Ronnie James Dio, Nathalie Cole, Scott Weiland, Mike Porcaro jus to name a few of who we lost 2015.. They dont come like that anymore..

But they must have a great time up there, jammin the shit out everything.. Just silly that one of the guys we thought should check out first just use hes 2x9 cat lifes time after time.. OZZY..

But again.. The loos of Bowie is huge.. one of the few artist i refused to sell all my vinyls with.. all still here and tehy will spin for a weeks now.. R.I.P

  17. Bowie is and always will be a shining jewel in our crown of our shared artistic consciousness. He was a great artist in every genre he worked in, be it music, acting or fine arts. I will especially remember him for his breath-taking portrayal and showing me the true master of all his undertakings in the role of alien in the full length motion picture "The Man Who Fell To Earth". He made me believe he was Thomas Jerome Newton, that very being on the screen. Maybe he was.

Bowie has been a part of my musical life almost as long as rock music itself and until now I always assumed that he wasn't troubled by mere human trivialities like mortality. R.I.P. David. It seems you were one of us after all.

well. I'm going to celebrate all he achieved rather than grieve. wouldn't wish anyone having to hang around with the agony of cancer.
Great new album by the way, some achievement when you know your heading into a box. Look forward to hearing what you been up to David when it's my turn to shuffle away. Been with me all my life so why not in death.
