Focus more on the Drums... add more stuff make it more alive dunno how to explain it lol, other than that i like it, compress more the bass tho, and some distortion to it... Good luck!

Very entertaining, thanks! Not a fan of that rhythm style (is it Drum n Bass?) .. I prefer to do that myself with my fingers on the steering-wheel LOL :bleh:

Not a fan of the production, would like to mix it for you though. Make it sound the way I want it to sound. Should make a "Mix this" game out of it and then let people vote. Would be fun.

Produce and add around the track you made and then mix it. Would be fun to se what people would come up with! =)

I love it personally...especially the beginning and up until 1 minute. Also, nice switch to the electric piano. After that it goes into a genre I'm not a fan of, but overall great track.

It sounds like trap and I'm no connaisseur but I just comment on what I hear, keep in mind I'm not that familiar with the genre.

I see what you are doing with the lead, it moves in and out of the mix because of the automated reverb. I like the idea bt I think you overdid it a bit. A bit too much reverb in the beginning and don't let the sound get 'too dry' towards the middle of the song.

@ 1:20 you filter in 2 percussion sounds. I think the off beat percussion is to loud when the filter is off.

I liked the 808's, the sound pretty clean and powerful to me.

Some minor things to improve, imho, but overall it sounds nice!

    I like it. Very minimalist.

I believe you could improve it by using some creative panning and automation. When there's not too much going on in terms of arrangement, you often need to compensate with creative dynamics and stereo field movement.

    Just my two cents.

yeah +1 for the minimalist... overall nice sound, but very spare, might try to come up with an alternate riff to
put in somewhere to offset things a bit, somewhat repetitive, it needs a little more going on sonically, though
I don't have much to suggest , maybe some accents, some well placed perc... just another 2 ¢

agree with @One Reason depends if you intend any application for it..

Not a bad effort Kyne. Why is the piano in the middle in a different key to your track though? Also, I think that kick needs some work. The hats are too soft and the stereo percussion smacks you in the face. Also, Please create more variation? It gets overbearing after a while. Besides all that though, I quite like it☺.

I like the use of drum programming. If the drums were a little more raw and less tinny sounding it would cater to my tastes. I'm a little old school when it comes to beats...I like them raw and layered. I've noticed beats for a lot productions these day's are very dry and too clean.
Maybe that's the appeal to the newer generation of electronic music listeners......

Like tech house for instance, doesn't often have that raw layered sound it used to have in the early 2000's. Would this genre be considered "trap"?

When listening to it T-double-U, it does sound like trap. You’re right about the layered sound. It’s just the style that a lot of producers adopt these days.

I dig. Love the progressive elements including the arrangement itself. Love the focus you show by completing the idea you started in the first bars. hats up on the mix but your production ideas are spot on. comes down to execution and mixing... and it's kind of irrelevant how you mix a cue like this until you have a project to use it on so I wouldn't worry too hard about it. you are very talented. keep it up!

I hear ya. I think the reason many producers do not layer as much is because of the hard compression and hard limiting. They want to fill all the spaces of the mix to full volume and leave little room for anything else. Here you'll notice I layered about 5 channels of drums. I did use hard limiting but carefully sidechained and used transient shaper to tighten things up a little to sound clean and not too crowded:

Hey the beat is great. the snare waw (I feel a kind of Dr. Dire-ish). But I was upset for the first 37 minutes hearing the same cello. Here is the thing. Yo have to hold the listener by surprising them for each four bars or 8 bars( i advise to add new element before they become upset and stop playing). I hear no pad, no lead gtr or...Better to have a check list to enrich yur track. Anyways I feel good generally.
    Best wishes

Thanks bro! Ya, I really miss the Big Beat days and the real progressive house days when it was mostly percussion and HOUSE sounding without any Trance influence. I still really admire Prodigy Experience for its raw sounding beats and diverse, well composed sound. Wish there were more Liam Howletts!
