Hey guys I'm currently recording this group's EP and when I goto record the guitarists acoustic guiitar track all I can hear in the mix is his breathing heavy into the mic. I'm wondering how I can avoid this? Do I tell the guy that he needss to stop breathing so freakin heavey or is there a mix trick that I can do or is it just a a matter of my gain staging? thankss for the help gguyss

How loud is his breathing that it's spilling into the acoustic guitar mic?

that's crazy, if it affects the floor noise so much show them, explains that his breathing is so heavy that it bleeds into the microphone play the example.

they'll change their way no one wants to ruin their recording.

could be a matter of gain staging ONLY if you have it too **** loud.

Try playing around with the microphone's polar patterns and see if it helps.
For example, if you're using a cardioid pattern, point the back of the microphone to the guitar player.

This is a problem heard of from time to time, and some actually suggest using
a bandanna over the guitarist's mouth to muffle his seething inspirations
