Hello there people. Been lurking for a while but eventually ran into problems that I need some imputs to be able to figure out!
I posted in the kontakt support thread thinking it was to reduce spam, but realized that it was for active users only. Havn't been active for so long just been lurking so I'll give this a go!

So I've tried to install a bunch of different releases of Kontakt 5. R2R and Tracers and even from a Komplete ISO. They all have same problem, when loaded in Standalone it works just fine. Right version is displayed (5.3.1.6464 , or 5.5.0 or what ever I've had installed) and it's displayed as full version. How ever when loading the vst from ableton Live it displays as 5.10.6066 and in Demo Mode. No mather what version I have installed.

I've tried to delete everything Native instrument related from the Vst Folder and the following locations:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments\Service Center (Delete Kontakt 5.xml)
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments\Kontakt 5
C:\Program Files\Native Instruments\Kontakt 5

C:\Program Files (x86\Native Instruments\Kontakt 5
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Native Instruments\Kontakt 5

C:\ProgramData\Native Instruments\Kontakt 5

C:\Users\PC\Documents\Native Instruments\Kontakt 5
C:\Users\PC\AppData\Local\Native Instruments\Kontakt 5

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Native Instruments\Kontakt 5
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Native Instruments\Kontakt 5

Still loading as 3.10.6066 and in Demo Mode.
Any ideas would be welcome

Are you certain that you only have one copy of Kontakt 5.dll in your VST folder?

Check the file, in Windows right click it the file and select "Details".

It will display information. Check which product version the file says.

Should be like this:

Production version 5.5.0 (x64) (or x86 if 32bit version)


Something that I find really confusing is that it would open Kontakt 3 at all using the Kontakt 5 dll.

Because each Kontakt version uses a different .dll file

Kontakt 2.dll
Kontakt 3.dll
Kontakt 4.dll
Kontakt 5.dll

At some point did you rename these so the file names are different?

I only have Kontakt 5 installed.
I have 3 Dlls in my Vst folder, kontakt 5.dll kontakt8out.dll and kontakt16out.dll and they all desplay version 5.3.0.646 in Details.
When I load them in Ableton though it loads 5.1.0
I havn't renamed them. I deleted everything kontakt related I could find

Sorry, not 3.1.0 it was a typo. was supposed to be 5.1.0

 

Why don't you just move your libraries and remove then install Kontakt again?

 

Are you using x86 or x64?

Make sure that you are checking the correct VST folder. As your system probably has separate VST folders for each.

Havn't touched the x86 since I didn't wanna bother with bridging to my x64 ableton. Should I? I only load the x64 anyway. Thanks for helping out!

I did, removed all libraries and kontakt. Not sure what to do other than that. Thanks for helping out though!
