Hi all,

I have 666 master clip almost constantly. Is there solution to that? I searched on Presonus forum and lots of folks there have that issue, especcialy in v3. I would move back to Reaper or Studio one v2, but v2 is not compatible with v3 (and for Reaper I can import just midi which would be lots of copying, and in the meantime could came new version of Studio One (music is not my primary occupation)).

I just load the song, make some tweaks and it just pops out, even when while not playing.

 

I've had that 666 problem a few times, but it doesn't appear constantly. I don't know what causes it

I installed lots of plugins recently and used Audio Assault Transient and Waves renaissance eq. So I should exclude one by one? I will rather move all to Reaper and forget Studio One. My cpu jumps pretty high allready.

 

Haha. I've had this thing a few times as well.

I'm not really sure if there's a real correlation, but I suspect it was an older version of Valhalla's Vintage Verb fault.

 

I had crackling/popping problem in Reaper with Profire 610. The solution was to turn off hyperthreading in bios and have firewire Ti chipset (I had that on Gigabyte motherboard). What can I do with this? Call exorcist? :p

Did You have loaded Valhalla in Your project or just installed in Vst folder? Maybe it is something wrong with the with cable or usb input of the motherboard..

 

You are not overloading your CPU with processors or vsti? Does it happen with an empty project?

 

I put internal buffer to 512 and 1024 on sound card. Cpu is very low then but it happends also. On other simple project not.

 

Go to your audio outputs on studio one, change it to another one or none, apply. Then go back to your usual outputs. It worked for me on S1 2.

 

That was working in the beginning but not anymore. Now I have to turn it off and then load it again.

 

I got it from the Freek frequency shifter plugin from SPC Plugins, randomly. I think it's SPC's cheeky anti-pirate software: blow your ears out with the screeching of satan. If you have any SPC plugins in your song, try removing them.

 

Try saving the song as a copy, change name or folder and if still doesn't work deactivate plugins and try to save a cleaner version. Not sure if it's a plugin that causes this. I use slate digital, fabfilter, spl, camel audio and s1 stock plugins. Maybe we can figure it out.

 

Like AX-AT said deactivate all plugins, I had this problem with cubase and always plugins were the culprit. It doesnt work if you remove them after the fact so test it with an empty project by adding plugins one by one while running an audio clip. It probably wont work if nothing is playing on the track.

 

What do you mean by '666 master clip'? Could you explain what exactly is happening?

 

I made new project with two tracks and all the plugins from issued project, and there is no clipping. I remember it was started when I putted two compressors from S1 (one for punch and one for sidechain). But I removed first compressor and now it is Audio Assault Transient there, and it still clipping... I will try to remove all plugins.

 

When the project is open (I don't need to play anything), at random time (sometimes faster, sometimes longer) master clip jumps in red and there is 666 in value meter. There is small tick sound when that happens. After that there is no sound in S1. And after 2 or 3 minutes there is loud distorted swipe sound from S1. And I have to turn it off.

 

I remembered I had that issue in Cubase also. I think that I removed plugins one by one from the project... I will try that in S1.

But is it strange that S1 and Cubase are so simmilar? I think that Presonus is off-shore company from Steinberg...

 

I played the track with windows audio and there was no clipping. And immediatly I putted M-audio M-Track plus Mk II it clips instantly. So my card is not compatible with S1? I think it is great sounding card but I guess it has some drivers issue with S1, or something changed in the meantime with my computer but I don't know what. I only turned off Windows sounds because it crashes Foobar 2000 (I think at least, I did not have crash this week)..

I don't have the will to go on M-audio forum. I am moving back to Reaper. I learned what is routing and now I know it how to make it in Reaper also, so no time waste...

I have a Presonus Firestudio Mobile and i have had the 666 clip thing ocasionally, so i dont think its a soundcard thing
