Lexicon is too clean, valhalla can be both clean & dirty! And it's cheap..

Convolution is too much hassle.. algorithmic all the way..

Valhalla's are really nice, low CPU usage, highly configurable and very simple. Great creative tools also (I think the Shimmer unit is great for that). On that side 2CAudio stuff are good too, but except Breeze, they are very heavy on the cpu side.
I did a few try with the Tsar sotube and it sounds good.
I had a try with the HOFA reverb and I think it has some nice features (the interface is really nice), very convincing and yet not too hungry on CPU (it is a "vintage" convolution reverb).

I've just tried the X-Verb from SSL/Duende and ...Whaouh.Morphing reverb. Nice feature.

I've recently discovered the ReLab LX480 Complete. A VERY good reverb, quickly moving through the ranks towards my favorite verb plugin. :)

I really like the RC24 & RC48 by Native Instruments & Softube. Both of them are really easy to configure and for easy Reverb jobs I tend to take these two. They also have a very warm sound. When I really need more in detail control over things it's Reverberate. :)

Just started playing with the Waves H-Reverb for the first time today and gotta say I'm really surprised how much I'm liking it. Definitely worth checking out.

I'm a big fan of Valhalla Plate. It's really difficult to get a bad sound out of it. Cheap too.

I have used every type of Reverb over the last 2 decades :winker:
The best I have ever come across is Lexicon's outboard processors - I had a couple of the MPX type years ago - Superb -
Now I work exclusively in the box and the only reverb I ever use now is: Valhalla - Plain and simple - very occsionally I'll call on the Wavearts reverb plugin but that is it

If you hear and don't like that metallic sound on the tail using other reverbs try Ql spaces, Altiverb 7 and Liquidsonics Reverberate 2. Ql Spaces is really effin cool! The downside is that the wet and dry are the only editable parameters, but the sound and price really make up for it and you can easily find a preset to suite your needs!

Verbs are dependant on the kind of music production you do. I do orchestral, cinematic.
I have probably tried every cheapest to expensive reverb. That made me a monk to choose the right reverb because reverb has to compliment your music, not vice versa. I also gradually realised that your original production has to be really good and reverb is the last thing to add. If composition is good even a cheap reverb will do a nice job. Currently I am hooked on Relab LX480. It just gives the right amount of colouration to the samples I use. The tail is warm and melodic not tinny/metallic. Other algos are Lexicon PCM (been using it for a long time) and Valhalla vintage. Convo reverb is all about impulses. I use Reverberate with Samplicity T600 impulses which are really clean unlike many other. And finally if I need Todd Ao scoring stage I use Waves IR1 which has this stage with two presets of positions.
