hmm, I am using 10.8.5 and ableton (albeit still on 9.2.3)… and haven't experienced any issues that I can recall… I can imagine new updates fix problems with certain automation issues etc, but better to have one WORKING (even with some automation bugs), then deal with time bombs! btw, the free giveaways Soundtoys are doing right now work just fine alongside 4,02, and will help defray cost if and when you decide to go legit with them….

I myself am of the "just buy it" school of thought. I don't know what your circumstances are. I do understand not having shit to buy plugins with. It wasn't long ago I was in the same situation. I'm gearing up to buy them myself. Pick up a couple "Little" plugins in their current charity promotion. Use them to bring down the price of the bundle. Wait for a sale.

cav emp is 10000% right, if you wait a week or 3, and pick up their freebies, each one gives you $50 off, and hopefully there will be a sale etc... my friend is only one free plugin away from getting it for nothing! Soundtoys are the class act of plugins IMHO, if you have the money, which I understand most don't, I haven't heard ANYONE regret spending a time with them (unless they bought them before a sale etc!)

I'd say, just buy and have it full and working without any worries. There's this "pay what you want" promo on their products, I got Little AlterBoy, Little MicroShift, Little PrimalTap and Little Radiator. Paid $1 for Alterboy, realized you can type 0 afterwards and just get for free. I don't mind giving my $1 to the charity, so not a big deal. You can't tell me you're THAT poor. Plus, once I have this, I can upgrade to full Soundtoys bundle for $300, or use the academic pricing of $249. Though, you can't sell academic licenses afterwards. So... maybe just look out for promos and go legit? After all, you don't really need all these plugins. Make some great music, and save up as time goes, and invest back in your craft.

Plus, the warm feeling of being honest with yourself and others in your heart is priceless. I know this is a pretty much warez forum. But if you really use something... why not just buy it and have it work without bullshit, and supports those who created it?

I don't know about a warm feeling of being honest. I do know it makes me happy to support someone who makes a good product at a fair price, and the Soundtoys plugs are superb, really. Individually the prices are kind of ridiculous but $500 for the lot of them is a steal, and as you and I have both pointed out, if you've been following the charity initiative, you can buy a $50 discount with $1.

Even if there had been a crack released, I would have bought these. When you find some exceptional tools, you have a better relationship to them if you actually own them. You feel better while using them, which snowballs into more inspiration to keep making music. Maybe that's your warm feeling - to me it's about a connection to the things that help me make music. The $300 I paid was peanuts for that. I could have waited till next week to pick up the next Little plugin. I still had 26 days on my demo too. I said screw it and forked over the money. I can't think of any creative effects that sound as good as these (for my style of course)

Also, as I pointed out, you could get those 4 plugins by just typing $0. Little Radiator is still on the promo.

I highly recommend the MFreeEffectsBundle from Melda Production https://www.meldaproduction.com/plugins/product.php?id=MFreeEffectsBundle. I've been using them for years and they have Autopan, Tremolo and so much more included in the suite. They're so good that I've replaced the SoundToys plug-ins on all of my sessions with the Melda Production equivalents since the Melda Ones are free with no Time Bombs or obligation to buy. They've got AAX VST AU 32bit 64bit WIN MAC etc.

Melda very strong company and their plugs are superb, I think if they have a different analogue type design, they will be much more popular!
