Basicly you guys are saying that if i feel to bad vote a post or a comment, i can't but i should ignore them in the first place? That could work, so just let me know why bad ratings are there...

I have my opinions as you guys have yours, the compromise will be remove bad ratings so no one feel left out. If bad ratings are there why i shouldn't use them? I'm just saying that bad ratings are part of the game, unless we remove them...

There are people that only become member of many many forums, because more exposure means people will see them, and eventually,will buy whatever they are advertising/selling. It's easy to spot them, they try to follow every single thread on the forum, with hundreds of simple posts like 'yes', ''no', 'move on', ' yeah, cool', ' great', etc, without a single constructive or interesting sentence longer than the classic 4-words posts. If you remove their banners, they leave the forum.

Of course, I'm not saying this to some particular members, of course.

As for moderation, currently moderators do not have the authority to ban long time members. Basically mod status allows you to edit/delete/approve posts, manage reports and issue warnings. That's it really.

I'd say apart from the requests and the spam which is hardly ever anymore, the community is about 90% good, then there some people who seem to disregard useful information in a post and let their arrogant minds take over a post. I find it frustrating when trying to help these people because it feel its a battle trying to convince someone to open their minds in regrards to musical taste/ production. but keep in mind this is something that is going to happen on most forums so theres not much that can be done about it :P

I am relatively new so don't know much ins and outs. You guys might suggest the best option. But at some level, to keep things decent, it does require some sort of moderation, of course imho. Many new and old members do not take part and present their opinions to avoid being trolled or insulted.

 

Moderation in moderation seems like a pair of hancuffs when what I feel this forum needs is more an iron hand to keep things civil and more a pleasure to visit without so much of the wild course that we seem to be steering now.

 

It has all kinds.
Everyone wants a dictator until they are under a dictator.
But really, don't ask for moderation when you need one badly.
Also, most people who supposedly post here are supposed to be grown ups. Too bad some don't act like it. I guess they're in for "da lulz". Meh.

Other Forums like Gearslutz, Kvr etc...are so boring elitist and full of intransigent and stubborn folks!
Here you can enjoy more freedom & flexibility yes, which doesn't mean that anybody has the right
to offend other people. Noticing that persons of different ages are here is also a determined fact.
