is there a difference between impacts and hits in EDM?

    are impacts and hits same thing? Or what is their difference?

    I consider impacts those sound fxs like booms, door hits etc some cinematic stuff in poor words.
    hits are like the one layered on the first kick in this track (
    ) You can basically hear kick, growl and another sound, that's the hit!

    is the hit slow attack in this example?

    i thought both impacts and hits are fast attack?

    Yes, usually they have 0 attack!

    I don't produce EDM to be specific. But in general I've always distinguished an impact from a hit as: An impact has a powerful RMS attack(fast or sweep) centered in the low to low-mid frequency range and commonly a longer tail. A hit has an abrupt attack(fast) centered in the mid to upper frequency range and commonly a shorter tail.
