synthesizer complete sound list e.g Lead = LD

    Hi am looking for the standard list of all possible sounds like

    LD = LEAD
    PD = PADS
    etc....

    there must be a standard list that covers everything somewhere?

    It's not possible, there's just too many parameters that you can tweak

    I think I know what you're asking...look through your sound banks to get a general idea of what's out there.

    Here's a list of the common ones i found and a couple of the less common with additional abbreviations.

    Standard:
    ARP - arpeggiator based presets
    BASS/BS/BA - Bass patches
    CHORD/CH - Chord patches
    DRUM/DR/PERC - Drum and percussion presets
    FX/SFX - Sound effects patches. Not necessarily musical
    KEY/KB/KY - Polyphonic keyboard patches. Rhodes, Pianos, Synth stuff
    LEAD/LD - Monophonic lead centric patches
    PAD/PD - Pad patches
    PLUCK/PL - Sharp Attack patches.
    RHY/SEQ/SQ - A (rhythmic) patch with a running sequencer. Kind of like arpeggiator.

    Others:
    ATMOS/AT - Atmospheric Patches, kind of like pads but more moodcentric and slow.
    BELL/BL - Bell Patches.
    BRASS/BR - Brass patches.
    STR - String patches
    SYNTH/SYN/SY - Synthesizer patches.
