Again this bloody timebomb with Soundtoys 4.1.1.
I had the problem, then they were working good for almost a year, now the problem again, they stop working after 10 minutes
very annoying
the fact is that I never found something good to replace FilterFreak, Tremolator and Echoboy
I tried to uninstall them and then install them again, same problem

is there really a way to find the file that turns the timebomb on and delete it?
some .plist or something like that?

I tried with fseventer but could not understand where and which is the file...

any clue?

The only thing I can suggest is to buy them. I mean, you seem to really like the products and have been using them for a while. You know what they say, "If you like it, buy it." Or something along those lines. Of course, if you just don't have the money to buy it, that's understandable.

 

well 500 bucks is a lot of money....

 

So you really believe that experienced developers that know how to code quite anything, will implement a protection so stupid that anyone can defeat it by simply deleting a file?
Dream on!

If you don't have the 500 bucks, learn some DSP theory and have a look at PureData or MaxMSP/Max4Live or Reaktor and develop the modules for yourself.
There are even some pre-made patches, e.g. for the completely free PureData:

Especially the second link, although named "simple effects", has some fantastic patches not unlike the Sound Toys.
I run PD stuff on my iPhone with a little USB Stereo ADC/DAC as RealTime FX, btw.

It's not as hard as programming, you just need some time to get used to the concepts.
And it pays off like hell. You'll never look back.

Some words about that 'Team XVX' Release : 'v4.0.2' :

"I see too many persons with timebomb and ilock/pacer problems so re-upload this old versions before SoundToys put these protections, in case you're interested as I do..."

Save up and buy them I have been buying more and more stuff that I use a lot like sylenth1 spectra sonic omnisphere, u he diva..and I know as ur spending ur money on plugins ur thinking man I could use the money for this and that but you'll feel much better after the fact trust me

 

TEAM XVX v4.0.2 is running perfectly on my system (still 10.7.5), although I didn't hear complains from people with later OSs. Which OS are you on? And I hope, you do not connect to the internet while using the plugs, right?

If you really like and "need" it, then just BUY it. Show some respect to the developer!
If you can't or don't want afford it, look for something else, but don't complain about free, cracked software. Never.

did you try put your clock back to when they were working and see if they still timebomb ?

if they work again for pc there's a program called sandbox
so if you can get something like that for mac
run your daw in it and open sountoys plugin,
then close your daw and look in the sandbox or mac version program
to see what files were added,changed,
also on pc you can make files read only dont no about mac ?
but after you do this to the files it stops the os or any program from changing them,
them copy the read only files in-to the same folders outside the sandbox on your os
put you clock back to today and see what happents,
if that dont work but the plugins do when you change the date just set the date back when you want to use them.
i dont have a clue about mac so its a long shot,

 

May I suggest Sugar Byte's WOW & Mtremolo in place of FilterFreak & Tremolator ?

 

you can use these 2 app to replace echo boy boz IMPERIAL DELAY. very good delay. and waves H delay.
H DELAY sound the same as echo boy and is much user friendly .

i bought sound toys suff for half price one summer on sale.. they do sale all the time

hi guys, has anyone tried Soundtoys 4.1.8 openssh??? I found to download but impossible to work with.

 

I stick with the 4.02 version myself for k'd versions, I have been burned too many times.... and it is a PITA, and I haven't had the balls to go the openssh method yet myself.... but 4.02 has been stable for me for years, providing I imagine, you stay offline etc...

 

Academic version is discounted if you qualify.

 

I bought them and am so happy. Especially running protools 12.3... this made a lot of difference in my mixing, and they have the sound toys 5.1 Now I think.. its much cooler with the little alterably

You can find somebody in school (studiant) & got the whole bundle for 250 bucks (price for the studient).

 

I've tried to work with 4.0.2 (no timebombs) but I have an error when I automations, an error window will not let me work with Ableton Live 9.5 64bit 32Lives - Mavericks 10.9.5

 

I would love to buy but unfortunately right now I do not have much money
