Yeah, that price is what gets me. Nowadays that would cost like $500. Gotta love that capitalism.

Oh, yes. None of that fake carbon fiber stick-on vinyl here. That stuff is such a fingerprint magnet. This gear gives you wood.

Er........ maybe I should rephrase that last part.

It has even a vintage tape machine... what more to wish :)

My first was a C4 with rubber keys, but I don`t recall any games for it ?!?
Cool games came with the C64... countless hours spent in front of a monitor

Te funny thing is that in a few decades we will probably remember the today`s DAWs as a joke

My fathers and mine first computer 1983-84. Hey it had 1KB which we had expanded with a additional modul to 16KB. But we had to fix it with Velcro-strip so that does not causes loose connection. :D

Dont get it twisted. That price is just for the 'tray'! -- about £100 in today's money. That's an expensive tray but I suppose it stopped your lap from burning

C64 here. I wouldn't be who I am today without it. When I was ~12yo I wrote my first lines of code in Basic that resulted in an awesome sound from the SID chip. Epiphany!

Bullshit. There's no way NI Massive will fit in 16K-byte. What about the libraries, ffs?

Nostalgia! My cousin got a Spectrum and I was fascinated playing with him (Manic Miner, what an addiction). Then I asked my parents a computer, I went with my father to a store (there were Spectrum, C64, Amstrad and MSX) and I fell in love with a C64 running "The way of the exploding fist". Sampled voices! (well, hits and screams).

Then I heard the Ocean loaders and I was even more impressed. I have them in mp3 lol. SID, what a sound chip, 3 voices, etc

Years later I bought an Amiga 500 and the sound was even better. The first modules songs, 4 voices. I don't remember the sound of the Amiga sound chip, woman name I think. It included a text to speech engine which was easy to use with AmigaBasic even for non English text using phonemes. My friends didn't believe it.

I remember this time when buying a 16 kb RAM extension was more than enough and a 64 kb pack was just overkill...

Ha, I recently played Manic Miner right the way through on a C64 emulator. Great memories.

I remember buying a cartridge for my C64 to copy games (it was like a memory dump). It came with a full featured graphic OS using windows (windows OS with joystick, not joking). Until one day C64 game coders discovered an anti-piracy measure: to use sound chip SID registers to store important data.
