    I'm getting the DT880s
    and was wondering,
    Is this a good match?
Will the iD14 be enough to power the cans?
Which DT 880s should I get?
I was looking at the 250Ω pair.
I'm not well versed in impedance and Ωs so I honestly don't know what I'm shopping for.

What do you use to amp them?
I'd like to get an audio interface that can handle the job instead of getting an amp since I need an interface anyway

I can send you my schematics, if you are into diy. I tested it myself with dt880 pro, works super fine. Even better than focusrite liquid saffire 56's headphone drivers.

I just purchased the same headphones myself, got the pro 250 OHM version, and I saw on Amazon that the FiiO E10K USB DAC headphone amp was frequently purchased together with the headphones. Haven't received them yet, but I'll let you know how it goes.

I mean if you want to build yourself a headphone amp I can give you my schematics. But if you have no electronic experience like soldering never mind. By the way, I checked audient's specifications. It may not be able to drive dt880 to the full power.

The iD14 should have a built-in headphone amp?

I`m probably not much help here, but I have the DT 880 (600 ohm). They`re easily powered by my Project Ember amp. A great marriage. BTW: I wear these awesome headphones all day... and barely know they`re on.

Considering the relatively high efficiency of 96dB/mW, even 600Ohm may not need an amplifier in certain setups. High impedance cans are more voltage-based than current-based as such are perfect match for tube amplifiers, and overall present better compatibility with most gear and introduce lower distortion. The only catch is to have enough voltage to drive them.

Got that amp in the mail today, powers the cans fine, doesn't get super super loud like a low ohm one does, but it does the job fine enough. And the amp was only 75 bucks.

I can vouch for PreSonus. Drives headphones fine. Great sounding interface. Comes with Studio One Artist DAW. Hard deal to beat. http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/AudioBoxUSB I have the 1818 model. And all their gear comes with a great recipe for jambalaya.:winker:

Yea, but I've aleady got a DAW ;)
However, this is what I'm looking for after I realized the id14 doesnt have a midi i/o

I've been looking for an interface that can amp headphones, take a guitar, mic and keyboard all at the same time :D

the 1818 is like this AudioBox USB but with more inputs yea? Do they both sound the same?
