I thought it would be as simple as plug a midi cable in to them both, and i can start playing my TB-3 form my MIDI keyboard but, it's not going like that at all, what am I missing?

I have an Alesis VI25 midi keyboard, and an iON 49k midi keyboard, plugged a MIDI cable OUT my keyboard, and iN to my TB-3, nothing happens?

Can I not do this? I'm not a fan of the touchscreen, I would much prefer using my keys to trigger the sounds.

and you know what, I absolutely can not find a guide on how to do it online, either?

    Someone help, please :(

I don't know if something is going wrong here, but in the Audio and MIDI settings of my mac, I can't join my midikeyboard and TB-3 up.. You normally have to click on a triangle and drag the wire to the device you want to connect to.. it wont connect though...

click on download here and download the editor, this will prolly have an easy way to set the midi channel for the vi25
for the ion 49k i couldnt find a link so fast but might be an idea to just check the manual, if you dont have it then google and see if you can download it

yup that should do it, with just midi cables anyways, if you wanna connect them together using usb through your comp you prolly need to use a DAW

Got it sorted now, finally! proper look through the manual, and I had to turn the tb3 on while holding scatter, and then select the midi channel there.. Was MIDI channel 2.

    Finally works now, happy!

Got the nidi channel on 'keybed' on the vi25 editor set to '1', and midi channel '2' set on the tb3... that sound right to you?
