Nope, I bet maggots can taste good if cooked with right ingredients, but I wouldn't taste that, unless I'm starving and in case of half-cracked Cubase, I'm starving...
Btw, I'm not asking, where's no one to ask for, when in your state average salary is less than half of a person living in germany and getting state's minimum wage, you kind of prefer food and paying bills, instead of "working hard" for your hobby, especially when that hobby involves software on your screen lol, so in my case I prefer not working at all and using workarounds instead lol

I used to save up salary after salary and other big sacrifices 4 years ago when i had to invest in the equippment and all the necessary stuff, but in my situation music and music-related activity was like everything for me, i had no girlfriend to take care of, no one to call me and see if i'm fine and no other "normal human" activities and stuff, maybe just working out half an hour a day to keep myself strong and taking cold showers to boost up my immune system, clear my thoughts and all the other benefits. So yeah, if it's just a hobby for you then i understand your point. :mates:

Could you elaborate? I use Cubaes 8 Pro as my daily driver and it's the best around imo. I've tried pretty much every other daw out there but I always come back to Cubase. Sure there's a few quirks that I would like for Steinberg to fix, but nothing major. So I would really like to know why you think it's "not decent".

I disagree. I have Pro 8 and I would take Elements 8 over Artist 6 any day. Unless of course you need more than 16 VSTi at the same time.

I started with Cubase VST and learned the basics on it, so, for me it will always have a special place in my brains...

Cubase is my way of thinking when it comes to digital recording and mixing... with any other daw, i have to translate my actions through the "cubase way" of how to do it.

It is something like Your mother tongue (Cubase) and the second language (all other daws).

The GUI design of that Cubase VST is still the nicest to me, with all that 3D flavour to it... all these push & light buttons; it was just nice to look at :chilling:
To bad they abandoned it for that 2D-ish variation.

I think, it all comes to how You first learn how to do things... it remains "hard coded" in Your brain, and makes You choose one versus the others... at the end, all daws do basically the same thing, more or less.

    Cubase/Nuendo is my choice :beg:

I TOTALLY agree I own cubase 8 also that areo crap running. I do not need flashing menus to make music just make the latency go away make the program less buggy. at this point I have fired up 6.5 and also 7 but I am trying to get my self over to reaper. It's blazing fast and stable. My only reap about reaper is they need a better midi editor like cubase once that happen it's ad one deal for me.

If you can get Cubase 6 cracked or even 7 I would say go for it. Cubase is over hyped to me also.

I believe Padshop Pro does though.

Hmmm... Let me see. It's just not my cup of tea. You prefer Cubase, I prefer Logic Pro X and Pro Tools 12 HD. What you say about Cubase is the exact same way I feel about Pro Tools HD 12 and Logic Pro X. Two each their own, m8. :mates:

I believe 8 is exactly that. ASIOGuard 2 is surprisingly effective. I have EXTREMELY low latency on my machine. Lower than with Reaper 4.xx for me. 8 is definitely faster than 7.

You can use a dongle with Padshop Pro, but you don't have to. It's like UVI with iLok. I think so anyway...

Yeah, I only have the regular padshop that came with Pro 8. So, the elicenser isn't a deal with that version. I can't tell you either way, but what you say sounds legit. :)

It's supposed to be, but understand windows Areo takes up resources and do you really need flashing menus to make music. I really lked cubase 5.5 and up till 7.5. but Cubase 8 is not what it's cracked up to me. You want to see really low latency try the demo of reaper. Same pc setup here and Reaper out preforms Cubase 8. Hands down.

It isn't for flashing menus. It's the only way to get Mac-esque multiple monitor support on Windows. And I have tried reaper. Better latency with Pro 8. My cpu usage is around 30-35% less than Cubase 7 and probably 5-10% less than Reaper.
