I'm using reaper. I want to use Blue Cat Patchwork to save cpu on idle but there's no on / off setting that I can find. I've tried loading plugins but my cpu meter is showing active processing. Nyrv Agent has this and has an on / off switch. It works fine - no active processing on idle.

Anyone confirm patchwork is working / not working for them ?

It's not really clear what you mean...
But PatchWork can be bypassed - see @ Screenshot.
All similar buttons can be deactivated or activated.

The answer you seek could be in the preferences settings.

Also have a look in the Audio Buffering settings...

Do you need to use patchwork instead of native chaining in Reaper with custom FX IO routing? (not true paralellism, but still).

Reaper's known for its routing capabilities

Ok time to get really specific.

If you have blue cat patchwork please open it in your daw on its own. Load 1 cpu heavy plugin. Please check your cpu meter. Is it 0% with no audio / no playback going on?

If you have nyrv agent try the same trick.

Both plugins are supposed to show 0% cpu when there's no audio or when there's no playback.

For me patchwork doesn't work, nyrv does.

No CPU load here (i.e. 0,0% reported) with Reaper x64 on Windows 8.1, two instances of BC Patchwork loaded with very CPU heavy plugins, and no audio running.
Reaper config like shown by Quadcore64, apart from "Reduce CPU use... (experimental)", which is de-checked in my Reaper.
Hope you can fix the problem soon!

    Correction:
Previous message was true for Reaper without any audio file/project loaded.
When loading audio file, CPU load increases by PatchWork even when audio isn't played.
So you are right, Focusrite, but in my Reaper that's true for other plugins, too, not only for PatchWork: CPU load goes up when plugin is activated in Reaper's FX window and goes down if plugin is de-ticked in FX window...

Thanks for your help in looking into this. Funny though, if you load bcp in nyrv agent it drops to 0%
