    Greetings all.

I have all the installs + updates + addons for Omnisphere v1 but I have not got around to unstalling it because I have not setup my DAW PC yet.

I'm now in the process of downloading the file-set for Omnisphere v2 and hope I can delete all of the files relating to v1.

Does v2 make v1 obsolete / redundant ie. is v2 a complete new upgrade to v1 and are the factory patches in v1 included in v2 ?

Also can the addon presets & packs (payware, freeware) for v1 be loaded/imported in to v2 ?

    Thanks.

Yes. You won't need Omnisphere 1. I consider Omnisphere 2 a big update rather than a completely new product.

It is a completely new product. Everything is better or bigger( library, waveforms, arppegiator) and now load your own waveforms from any audio file. And all of the Atmosphere and Omnisphere 1 patches are included.
I have all of the addons from 1 in 2. AZ seems to have about 22 of them.

Yes. It uses all presets of V1 so it's really obsolete.

You even cannot keep v1 if you install v2, it's a full upgrade and it upgrades the whole library to only work with v2. After upgrade, you cannot use v1 anymore, even if you install that again. I thought I could have both running, but no, it's one or the other.

    Ok, thanks.
So I'll delete all of the install+update files I have for v1 and concentrate on v2.

What about the packs & presets which came out for v1 - are they compatible with v2 (can they be loaded / imported) ?

If you download the upgrade from Spectrasonics, you have to keep v1. V2 installs on top of v1 and can't be installed alone. So don't get rid of v1 because it takes forever to install.

The versions v1+v2 I have are downloaded from auoz.

So in my case I hope to I hope to i nstall a fresh v2 from scratch, not as an update. Then - add the preset packs from v1 - if they can be imported.

    Will this work?
