Hi, first post, thought about time I got involved. Here's a new song I wrote/produced, had fun with the arrangement. I guess it is kinda hip-hop over some melodic orchestral/keyboard backing, all done in Logic Pro....

Did you play/programmed all the instruments or all of them are mere samples mixed together ? ... Is your own voice which sounds in the mix ? ... Also in the Chorus ?
Personally i think that it would be good practice to give all this information in the post itself without us having to go to Sound Cloud where it can be or it can be not.

Anyway, i liked very much! ... Good Job!

    Hi Stephen and welcome here,

Very nice melody, I love it.
I think there is a big potential in your song - congrats for the orchestration -, but something disturbs me within the mix.
Main voice is completly blurred by those drums' effects which always want to overdo - we know you love drums ^^...
From 1'00" to 1'24", there's a long gap that might be filled by some of your backing vocals (which are, in fact, very good).
Last thing : the full story seems to be a little bit too short to me.
Don't lose heart, you're almost there...

P.S. : fraggle83 is right : more infos will not hurt. Which plugins, instruments and/or samples were used ?

    Yeah great production.
Like Lord Gaga says you should add some vocals here and maybe some compression cuz it's louder than the rest on the song.

And yeah some infos specially for strings are welcome

sorry for the lack of info. keyboard was a kurzweil k2600 (I played), bass was a Trilian patch, strings are a mix of EWQLSO Platinum plus strings (I played) combined with some runs from Orchestral String Runs I programmed, drums are a mix of Stylus RMX loops and one-off hits from Stylus RMX sound menus (eg the big toms, big air claps and metallic clangs). The guitar bits again are some short RMX loops that fit the key). So its a mix of me playing and programming and using loops. The main vox is not me, it was recorded remotely for me by a mate in another country (sony c800g>neve 1073>Tubetech CL1B) and he processed the vox in FL Studio, think most of the widening FX are via the FL pitchshifter.I'm away from home at the moment and dont have the full logic project file in front of me to further dissect the plugs at the moment. The song had originally been prepared to submit ( unsuccesfully) for a short film, hence some of the 'open' areas of the mix, too-big drums eg toms etc and some of the heavy subbass in the middle (for an underwater sequence)... my plan is to now remix and release as a track but lose a few of the water f/x sounds etc that were used for part of the original score work I did (the real sub bass sounds were via UVI Xtreme FX, great library!). Reverbs were mainly Lexicon PCM Native, the arp stuff was driven out of Omnisphere, it ended up being multi-layered I know!
