• Vintage Tape [Advanced only] — The Vintage Tape module brings the distinctive richness and warmth of tape saturation to your modern digital recordings with all the frequency coloration, distortion, and phase effects of tape. • Vintage EQ [Advanced only] — With the richness, warmth, and color of Pultec equalizers, Vintage EQ lets you brighten your master, smooth out heavy lows, and add body to your digital recordings. Discrete frequency value selections let you boost and cut separately — but at the same time! — without ending up with a “boomy” master.
• Vintage Compressor [Advanced only] — Vintage Compressor is a single-band compression module for subtle warming and sweetening effects. The program-dependent release tailors release shapes depending on your material to adapt naturally to your music. Thicken the midrange, tighten and round out the lows, let the top sparkle, and get authentic vintage character.

• Vintage Limiter — The “Tube” mode that was part of the Maximizer in Ozone 6.1 has been broken out to its own module, the new Vintage Limiter, and got an upgrade with faster and slower settings. Glue a mix together and add character with the Vintage Limiter’s warmer, analog-sounding final-stage limiting while retaining the ease and precision of digital maximizing. • Export Formats — Specify the file format for export from a variety of compressed or uncompressed popular choices like MP3, WAV, and AAC. You no longer need to output to .wav and then use a separate MP3 converter. • Upgraded Maximizer with IRC IV — Ozone’s legendary mastering limiter features a new algorithm (IRC IV) with multiband and frequency-specific operation, so that the limiter doesn’t have to work as hard. Didn't Ozone 6 like just come out 5 months ago? lol

 

There is a Sound On Sound article (online) about Ozone 6.1 Advanced published in June, 2015. Now, November 3rd, Ozone 6.1 Advanced is old because has not enought vintage capabilities.

Aren't they supposed to be on a product development cycle? like when was the last time Nectar was updated or Trash or Breaktweaker? Alloy 39 should have come out before Ozone got another revision lol.

Nectar needs an update. A facelift. The whole reason i wont buy Ozone is because they update too often and its 500 initially, then ~200 a year later for the update. And that means going back to any projects i was currently working on and setting up Ozone 7 in them from scratch. Pain in the ass. They need to just do major updates at 6.5 or 6.6 or whatever. Not jump to 7.

Work on Nectar Izotope!

 

I look forward to the vintage part but. . . it truly seems Ozone just released. Hope it's great though.

 

Not being an ass here, but why not add any other reverb plugin to your master? There sure are better reverbs than the one in Ozone.

 

Wow a whole number jump for just some added algos and filters? I'd be pretty pissed off right now if I was an actual customer of them. It's not as all different than the changes from v5 to v6… They are updating this thing like Firefox (well not that frequent, but you know…) ;) The introductery for Ozone 7 price is really nice though (while the price for Advvanced is not).

Sweetwater has a really nice interview and tour on youtube of this plugin they have a lot of nice nice new features really helpful stuff to get a better mix and master

@ArticStorm, why not keeping both tools ? Isn't it possible ?

 

I have a theory that the reverb will move to Alloy 3 (btw where the hell is alloy, forget nectar and breaktweaker this one hasn't got an update in ages).

Why all the anger about the reverb? No offense but reverb isn't really for the master bus. Of course there is a scenario where it works but generally it is a bad idea. I liked the reverb, but I don't really care it is gone.

I for one am really excited for 7. The tape saturation looks great.

What's the problem to use both Ozones, 5 and 7 ? I have all: 3,4,5,6 - and all updated to their latest versions. But I use mostly 5 and 6...some new stuff from 6th and old removed stuff from 5th.

Ozone 5 Adv: Mastering Reverb, Hard and Soft Maximizer, (possibly smthng else dunno)
Ozone 7 Adv: Dynamic EQ, Vintage Tape, Vintage EQ, new IRC IV Maximizer Type with its own new modes as well (Modern,...), Vintage Compressor with its own new settings and modes to choose (Sharp, Balanced, Smooth), Vintage Limiter with its own new settings and modes to choose (Analog, Tube, Modern), new mastering chain, updated GUI, Codecs Preview, Export Codecs, other new features/improvements/fixes and more stuff added/expanded for existing processors...+unmentioned changes from Ozone 6/6.1

Also: Ozone 5 Adv's processors can be inserted in chain of Ozone 7 Adv. And you can insert other 3rd party plugins.

Ozone 7 Adv has more advantages than disadvantages.
