Im a bit confused by UVI's stuff...

I dont know anyone that uses the software, its rarely mentioned on here or in other forums and some of the product descriptions seem a bit over the top...

on the other hand the GUI's are really well done, they are obviously cool programmers and the software does seem interesting...

 

its iloked , thats why no one talks about in warez forums

 

I use a very lot of UVI stuff . Most is very good.
I also use MachFive and this looks and sounds (from the description) to be an upgraded version of that

 

I have a sparkverb, sweep machine and relayer, also a few of their sample libraries. I couldn't recommend them more. I honestly should have put UVI as an answer to your recent thread about software companies. I forgot them in my haste

 

Couldn't agree more. UVI products are very, very high quality.
And this Falcon seems an incredible beast, really awesome.
Thinking of drawing my wallet for this one.

Ok, UVI products are certainly not the cheapest, but hey, you get real, real value for money.
Yes, Pace protection is used.
Ok, not my favourite licensing method but worth enough "the hassle" for me.

Just my 2 cents.

 

I hope UVI will one day soon have as many 3rd party libraries available for it as Native Instruments Kontakt. Kontakt pisses me off. I recently sold 90% of my NI shit because their gear has become more and more needless in my rig. I used to use my Maschine Mikro MKII for a fancy night light from the multicolor pads. I used to color them to my current mood and I'd set it out in the hallway at night so my studio would look sort of like a night club, since it's not like I needed it to make music. I ended up selling it for $280 along with the complete set of expansions.
Kontakt is a ram hogging piece of crap, IMO and the sample libraries are too large. For instance, one like this for kontakt would be like 200GB in file size. I switched to UVI and MachFive but there's still some kontakt libraries that are essential for my productions. I hope one day MOTU will improve the feature of loading other sampler formats into MachFive, and maybe even UVI can do this one day. I own UVI Vintage vault along with many Acousticsamples libraries like Sunbird (which sounds like crap, BTW. Not even close to the sound of a real Hummingbird guitar as I have one). UVI is some top notch stuff and their libraries take up little hard drive capacity and at the same time still deliver the pristine, high quality sounds they promise to the customer. They're expensive but worth it. MachFive is by far the best sampler on the market today, IMHO. And I own Halion 5, Halion sonic 2, Reason 8, Cubase, Kontakt 5, EastWest, Vienna Ensemble Pro 5, and literally every other sampler that's compatible with Mac OS X. None of them come close. UVI and MachFive 3 are my go to's.

 

Actually UVI doesn't require iLok dongle, only registration on PACE website and working installation of License Center.
That's how for example Ravenscroft Piano works.

 

thats correct i already know this lol and Falcon was an instant buy , i own many of the the uvi based librarys or software , iloked meant iloked , dongle or not dongle , it does not change the fact that it is ilok protected , and i stand by this thats the reason why no one talks about those software . because alot of people want have everything for free , alot of people are ilok paranoid .

 

@TinTin It does change the challenge needed to crack such software. But that wasn't my point.
Just wanted to say, discussions about cracking iLok on AudioSEX are not restricted, even though certain mod deleted them in the past without disclosing reason, it won't happen again, as long as no rules are broken and we don't receive DMCA complaint.

About free, 100% agree. If only people knew how great software is already out, for many years.
New software is (mostly) more CPU/RAM intensive, with only minor audible difference compared to older alternatives. People made great music on PC even 15 years ago

 

UVI uses IRCAM tech, which is one of the best sources for high quality algorithms! I've heard rumors, that waves is buying ircam algorithms too.

Anyway, it looks awesome. Mach5 is extremely unstable, it crashes very often on Win (32/64 bit, doesn't matter). Is the UVI Falcon behaving better?

 

I buy it soon. The Interface is nearly the same like MOTUs Mach FIVE.

I have Mach Five for Mac Version 3.2. Absolut stable, no crashes on OS X 10.10.1
Don't know how stable it works on Windows computers.
