I've looked online for a while on tut's on how to get a sub-bass like this:

(comes in at like 6 seconds).

Truth is, i dont really know how to get a good sub-bass at all.

How can i get this deep subby tech house style bass in Logic?

I have quite a few plugins, Massive, Reaktor, Syleth, Monark, to name a few. As well as the native logic plugs.

And in depth instructions, videos or just text walkthrough on how i would be able to make this?

It's a Sine wave no more no less (sub freq are usually made with a sine or a square).
You can do it with any plugin you have.
I dont know which kinds of oscillators there are in Logic,but you mentioned sylenth1, open it and select the sine wave, DONE!, no any sort of effects,there is no need.

In the track you posted maybe on sub there's a little little pluck on it (made by a modulation of the pitch through the LFO ).

 

Yep, a pure sine. EXS24 with no patch loaded generates a sine by default. If you hear clicks and pops, play with ADSR and filter a bit. You also have to take care of the kick - snappy & short, no "oomph" - so the bass can have it's place in the mix. And you must have good speakers (and by good I mean 5" monitors) - for me it's very difficult to balance the mix in headphones, but on speakers works just fine. Cheers!

 

I agree with guys, but also I'll make LP filter around 120Hz with resonance (hear what suits you the best), then sculpt the sound with rest of the mix.

I didn't think it would be that simple, is it really?
Wade's basslines are always so good. Really low and subby, they pump!

I guess I will have to play around with settings myself to tune it to my own liking.

I'll try what you all said and see how it sounds

and @jayxflash - I have KRK Rokit 8 monitors, so they're big enough and they're very low-end heavy, lol. Probably not a good thing though, as they'll give me the perception that my bass is harder than it really is... We'll see.

You can also drop a sample of a clean 808 bass drum into your favourite simple sampler.
Once in this environment, you can loop the sample, fiddling with the loop settings and size of sample, will often get great results.
{You can go as small as single cycle waveforms and pitch down.}
It is also possible, to find an example of the sound you want, in the song you like, and chop out a clean, small sample, and drop that in a sampler.
Samplers have usually got good filters, and envelopes to sculpt the sound further.
You can do this for many different sounds . eg. I love sampling dubtechno chords and then reshaping the sound completely in ableton's sampler/simpler, with a chain of effects afterwards.

 

After reading this post, It inspired me to make a Logic Pro Tutorial on how to make a cool Deep house Tech 808 Bass with Logic's very own ES2 Synth. I even go in and re-sample the song in question Via EXS24 and extract the groove. I hope it helps...
