Since i started buying software a year or so ago ive been very choosy with who i hand my money over too...

basically, most iLok companies never get a penny off me for a start...

So things like value for money, customer service and regular updates to known issues all matter to me...

But MOST importantly its the sound, do they deliver what they promise, most don't imho but there are a few that i love. Im a Hip Hop head so these are companies id recommend for other Hip Hop heads..

Slate Digital seems to do it for me, each and every time.

Good thread Remix. I'm a hip hip head too. It's rather expensive but Spectrasonics would be one I would always expect greatness from and would be willing to give my money to. Output seems to be the same. Although he catches a lot of flack, u-he as well in terms of delivering quality products imo. As far as samples there are two companies that always deliver. illmind has great sound gritty kits worth every penny. NI also gives a lot for the price in terms of their kits. They chose to give you clean samples and let you apply effects to them yourself.

    Yeah spectrasonics always deliver...

The drumbroker stuff is up and down for me. A lot of the drums are nice but the synth samples etc are a bit of a rip off in my opinion and nothing special at all...

NI...in terms of hip hop stuff i think they are average to say the least...no doubt tho maschine is nice...im mainly talking about the expansions.

Yea i dont disagree with that last statement. It's got nothing drumbroker or illmind kits for example. But I moreso give them a pass because of all the content they give you additionally. Hits, Vox stabs, great massive programmed presets, etc...makes it a nice value purchase if you don't have a large collection of stuff.

dat Tone Boosters and Fab Filter combination is deadly. Good for when you wanna double team on that production.
