    Hi!
Could you tell me where I can find such hihat samples like in these 3 examples? Or how to recreate them in some synth?

    1) These smooth synth hats:

    2) Here I'm interested in the top-end loops:

    3) That hat which starts in 0:50sec:

Does this hat have a flanger? (what flanger settings could I try as a starting point?)

What sample packs do you recommend for that kind of house music?

    cheers!

cant really say i know which drumsynth they are from, they do remind me a bit of 808 hihats, but you could always try samplepacks from vengeance, loads of drumsounds in those and prolly very similar to what you are looking for.

You can come a long way with just filtered white noise (any synth), amplitude envelope (decay mostly) and perhaps some additional comb filtering or chorus.

Start with playing any long hihat or noise. Adjust ADSR. Add a highpass filter and adjust filter cutoff and resonance. Play around with these "simple" parameters in bold. Then add additional comb filter or chorus if needed.

All the Hi-Hats in your examples sounded like they are synthetic (based on white noise). So in actuality, the sound to begin with itself does not matter as much as working with acoustic Hats. So it's more about the essential parameters to get the right Hi Hat Sound:

    1. Sound Selection & Tuning >> The right Sample and Pitch (Do Kick Snare and Hat feel together?) If not, don't be afraid to replace a sample if it doesn't work. Don't force it. It's just frustrating and draining energy.
    2. AHD/ADSR Envelope >> The Right Length (because silence is Music too, you know…)
    3. Levels/Routing/Mix >> Level Balance between Kick, Snare, Hat and Placement in the Mix. Consider Bussing Elements together and throw a musicial Compression at it.
    4. Filtering & EQing >> That's probably the most important thing. Hats like theese need to be thinned out from the bottom. The upper Mids and Hi-End of the spetrum is what makes them sparkle and feel right so that's where maybe some EQing has te be done (depending on how good your sample selection was.
    5. (Hi-Hat) Programming >> Velocity Variations bring an organical feel along (For the Groove. But also Genre-specific).

I am pretty sure if you stick to these basic Parameters you can get very far. And remember: it's ONLY a Hi-Hat!
