Actually it is :D Cuz I posted a cpl hours ago in this thread, that is why it was in your precious news feed. I only just got around to using dkny's fix for using all the 1.25 with v1.55 today. Amazingly the synth still works regardless of whoever owns the company these days.

 

I too would like there to be a way of getting a hold of Camel Audio libraries like the Water sounds one or Guitar Mutations, among others that were never released on "The Big Zee" before. The sad part is I was planning on buying them all right before they croaked. The good part is, I own a Mac (I will not switch back to PC for as long as I live. Lol) and Logic Pro X but I prefer the old Garageband (v6.0.5) or Studio One 3. I use some other plugins not by Camel Audio, that I got at "Da Big Zee" and they're incompatible in the newer Garbageband X. So I will not use that crap of a DAW. But in Alchemy's case, I prefer not to switch DAW's just for Alchemy. Alchemy 1.25-1.55 was an awesome synth IMO, and I think Apples take on it sucks preset-wise. So I still use Alchemy 1.25 Yet I probably should be thankful I have the chance to explore it in 2.0 Apple-style, because some are bound to PC obviously or simply just refuse to be "Graped in the mouth" by Apple. LOL.

I read in another thread there was an effort underway to collect all the 1.5 soundbanks, is that still going or is it one of those R2R projects that will never see the light of public day?

 

it was an long long time before , and time has changed and since teams and alot people have basically stop sharing to public , it seems more dark light of public days to me .

 

Perhaps its time now for anyone with 1.5 soundbanks willing to modify them as above, to maybe do so and start sharing them.

With them being discontinued, it seems more like a public service to make them available.

 

Cool idea phatboy303! I started messing with the 1.25 soundbanks since I've become less than optimistic that we'll see a public release of the 1.55 soundbanks from the teams (or the k'd v1.55 for that matter).

Did a quick test with the sole 1.55 soundbank I have and this seems to work (using UltraEdit).
Search for :

Code:

(UserData \= .*)

Replace with :

Code:

UserData \= AlchemyTasteOfCamel\|\|\|\|\|\|\|\|\|\|\|\|

 

phatboy , you could start and made it yourselves first instead of asking , than you will see how many time and work it would be

 

i would love to know how to do this dkny! but your right hopefully someone can post these fixed patches up maybe soon! also dkny do u have the cinematic atmospheres soundset? if so pm me bro!

 

Well I've got a couple I could have a go at doing. I've never used UltraEdit or anything like it before so i'll have to figure that out first.

 

Quick guide to using UltraEdit :
In the tab menu Search choose "Replace in Files..." (or press ctrl+shift+p)
Then make a few changes like below
1. Insert the Find and Replace strings I posted above
2. Type "*.acp" in the 'In files\types' box (not really necessary just makes the process a whole lot quicker)
3. Select the Alchemy Presets folder in the 'Directory' box
4. Tick off "Search subdirectories" and "Regular expressions" and choose 'Perl' in the dropdown menu.
5. Hit Start or Replace All (Start will do them one by one allowing you to abort mission if something wasn't done correctly lol)

 

Well that seemed simple enough. So how do we go about sharing them then?

Well its up to you if you want to do it or not, there's no real incentive if you own them all already but you will get that nice warm feeling of sharing something and making the world a slightly better place!

Seriously though, if anyone wants to join in, we've got three done so far. The more, the merrier.

This synth/sampler is awesome, a pity that this company has been swallowed by the big apple, well a pity for the Windows users at least.
Anyway, 1.25 looks fine to me, at least good enough to have a lot of fun for a very long time.

Okay, everyone here. Surely, sum of you will have a few. The process is really simple it will take you seconds, or if you want i'll do it, if your'e not sure about me contact Flooond, he's been here longer and willing to help.

So far we have 3 which is pretty, but that's not enough to kick this off with a bang.

I'll say it again we are talking about discontinued sounds from a legit-only discontinued synth made by a non-existant company now owned by Apple. Far all the good people they were before, they sold out. They chose money over their business, the fruit of their loins, their ideology, any further relationships with friends and supporters all gone, their choice.

Besides, i doubt Apple or Camel care either way
