Moron, next time you want to claim that Ive said something, just copy/paste it. I know that you want to take advantage of people who didn't read the whole thing, but that's childish.

Getting tired of all your lies.

DoubleSharp, you're using numbers as semitones in your little program? How dare you refuse the traditional letter system??

Heretic!! May you never be able to recognize a perfect fifth again in your life!!

Fantastic, you know "better than me" that note name are choices, yet you refuse to acknowledge them as a convention.

They were choosen.. but they are not a convention.... right.

Haha a little facetious perhaps. I guess i am just capable of accepting different methodology for different things...
    Unlike yourself.

And to be fair to my programming work, I can also define whether or not an interval is a flat 3 or Aug 2nd within the construct of using numbers as semi-tones.

dickhead,i dont need to lie to show that u r an ass hole, just the fact that u insist on saying that u think in a numeric structure, not realizing that it works abstractly but it has to be converted in names when u actually play, unless u play using muscle memory instead of your brain, thus relying on geometry, making u another one of those who play but don t know what the fuck they r doing

Has to be converted in names? I can't believe we're still hitting on this one.... even my unborn child that wasn't even conceived understands why this is totally false. And again, convention/note names as choices.. that didn't help your understanding.. ok.

This is absolutely false, I don't know how a person can be so ignorant while actually knowing some stuff about music. The only explanation is that you were one of those students that only says "yes" to everything and doesn't want to no "why", neither know "more".

One needs note names to connect the pitches in his head to actual notes... after 350 posts... REALLY?? By this time you should've realized that INTERVALS ARE ENOUGH TO ACCOMPLISH THAT, wether you use numbers, letters or the fuck you want!

    YOU ARE DUMB!!

It's already sad that you don't know what convention means and sadder that you can't even google and easily find out that musical note names are conventions.. because they were chosen, hence the word convention! (yaaay!!)

You either call it 3 semitones or a "3" like you would in your software or you fully embrace letters and #/b. You CAN'T be on both sides and have more than one way of looking at music, traitor!!

    :bleh:

...and if you call it a 3, you can't understand what that note means theoretically/musically.

It only gets a meaning if it is on a staff.

Retarded enough? Should I stop?

yes u r right,u and foster are t he only cool people here, the rest of us is stupid
if instead of a string instrument ot a beyboard , u had to play a trumpet, would u still think that thinking in a numeric way without knowing the notes names, being able to spell the intervals and their enharmonic equivalents would be possible?if u do then anyone who plays a breath instrument and thinks every note they play must be a total dumbass

How many times do I have to clear up my stance?

I keep saying all views are correct if there's a mathematical integrity according to music, you guys are the ones who keep saying that what you were taught is the only way.

Really, some copy/pasting next time and explain to me where exactly you see me being closed minded or saying that there can only be one right way. You'll certainly find A LOT regarding the opposite of that but maybe that's not what you guys want to read.

Why the fuck would anyone need note names if they simply knew the corresponding intervals on their instruments?

not the only, but the right and practical one for sure.U came in into a thread started by a guy who desn t know anything about harmony, who posted shitty grids and when someone tried to explain him how to study intervals u started dissing the foundamentals makring them as outdated and snobbish, u surely did him a favor, making him just another juy who thins that a few notions and a good daw will make him make good music, congratulations

    In whatever instrument, if I want a V7b9, I just play those intervals (R 3 5 7 b9).. why would I need names?
