On planet X, which is remarkably similar to Earth, there exists an internationally owned and operated non-profit database paid for through a small, acceptable portion of each country’s tax base. This database contains down-loadable software/media from all the different software/media companies and developers on the planet who elected to enter their product into the database; the software/media being offered depends on volume of votes received by the citizenry of the planet for individual pieces placed in separate categories . Each citizen has the opportunity to buy a membership to this database for the low and set monthly installment of the equivalent to $5 U.S. All profits from these monthly fees go to the media companies and developers based on volume of downloads for each category.
If this system were to be implemented on Earth, vast sums of revenue would be generated and earned by the media/developers without putting a dent in the pocketbooks of the citizenry. Also, all illegal downloads would be severely curbed, if not eliminated altogether. Yes, there would be exceptions, problems and glitches, but these could easily be worked out in time, and schemes like SOPA would be all but meaningless. I, for one, would buy into this database in a second!

On planet Earth, which is remarkably similar to planet X, there exists an internationally owned and operated full-profit database paid for through a big, non-acceptable portion of each country’s tax base. This database contains the money which is is needed to bailout the banks so they can continue to rip off the Earthlings.

    Should I continue ?

I hear you. Planet X has a more civilized population. Let's try Earth again in 1K years, if we're still here.
