Yes a sensible argument for once. Why spend so much time for relatively little reward when there are easier targets? If all the devs were to go ilok then it would be cracked and released by someone out of sheer pig headedness. It's not impossible to crack it just......... why bother?

 

Also realistically if you want to make music you could easily do it with a cracked copy of Ableton/studio one, fabfilter plugs and a couple of the already cracked synths. I'm sure people generally crack things for fun or personal gain/kudos points.

 

To make everything even less sensible for me, I don't see any worthy targets on Ilok-2 except Eventide plugins.

Had an Ilok-2 dongle in the past and demoed many of these hyped plugins, did not like any of them. Slate? Phew. Don't want it for free nor for the money they're asking.
Planned to buy some Iloked-2 plugins, ended up selling Ilok-2 dongle itself.

Recent ProTools maybe? Who the hell needs this outdated piece of software without VST support? How I will run my fav VST-only plugins on it? Used legal ProTools in the past, ended up swithing to Samplitude and Reaper. They are better DAWs than ProTools. ProTools was in 90s and haven't learnt anything new since. I don't want to go back to crippled routing from unlimited Reaper patchbay aka "route anything to anything". This is really dope feature.

Nearly every developer who invested in DSP, not in marketing is NOT on Ilok-2.

I can agree on that, sometimes when ''marketing'' gets me I look op that certain plugin, see it's Ilok-2. Can't demo that and forget about it

Ilok2 is not hard to crack, It's already been done But I don't think anyone will see it Publicly

 

Threads about ilok 2 got deleted in the past because some come to close to the solution by guessing around ? :-P

If it would be cracked, pace would look into it anyways so it really doesn't matter if you talk about it publicly or not.
Plus, all the patents and technology can be accessed without restrictions so if it were that weak, it would be pointless.

 

Talking about flaws Of iLok2 Publicly by doing that they will fix the hole so fast & if they want to know about those flaws they have to pay for the information , people who work on decryption And reversing & cracking & Patching & ETC... they don't talk publicly unless in some private places when they discuss those things with other teams only if the Groups Decided to Team up about something​

So iLok2 stuff isn't going to be released this year any way or the next
So talking about it Here without enough knowledge from the other part
is like talking about something you have no idea what it is

Exactly, my friend. People just can't take a good joke with their lust for releases. People who have a clue and are somewhat tech-savvy get a chuckle or two out of such posts. I sure do, but the butthurt it provokes in other "community members" is just ridiculous. As they just feel entitled to it. "Waititscracked? GIMMEGIMME NOW! or you're all elitist bastards..." But who am I telling this to? You know it all much better than I do.

 

First, to answer cook, It should not.
Second, It's not a lie, There are plug-ins out there that had bad implementation. End yes we are not likely to see them.

I have been looking thru the archives here ( and actually have been reading on this site for
a few years) and there is some great information and education there. I also see that there are some great and helpful members here like yourself

I just was wanting to point out how sometimes this forum seems to lose proper focus and at times even when a thread on a topic starts on a postive and informative foot the mud slinging drags it down way to often. We all wonder about R2R, sharing, and a whole slew of non directly related to audio things and the information given does help me to understand how everything works but that info seems to get mixed up in a lot of personal stuff that should in my opinion remain that way. I hope that the mods crack down on some of this soon as they are starting to do on AS's sister site AZ as that place is slowly getting back to the way it was years ago when I first discovered it.

As far as the search engine here is concerned, I cannot seem to get it to work on my mobile tablet that has become my main tool for research and reading. The field at the top right just will not open for me. Any ideas why?

Sorry I can't help you with your tablet search issue, I only use a computer on here. Maybe someone else will chime in with an answer, or you could start a new thread specifically about your issue, that would probably get more visibility! Good luck.

 

What kind of tablet on which OS and browser?

I think saint would be interested, if this bug could be replicated.
