Hi guys, apologies if I'm in the wrong place.

I've started uploading some of my work to Spotify etc service but am just wondering if its ok to upload tracks that contain samples from libraries I 'got' from Audioz.

    Any advice is greatly appreciated.

That's mostly a moral issue. If you're ok with it, go ahead. What can I say? I guess it'll be OK if the tracks don't contain anything easily recognisable (like vocals). (Still unlikely anyone will go scouting, especially if it's not a massive hit) Then again, you don't really have a license to use them.

So, is it OK? Answer that for yourself. But also consider that you're likely to make money from it. That always spices up the mix.

Ok thanks, Honestly, I wont make a cent off them but Id like to put them out there in a widely used app like spotify just for feedback. I do have a few tracks with vocals from libraries so I'm in a dilemma whether or not to use them. I might hold off for the moment. Thanks for the reply

You should buy a license for these sounds. It's really showing no respect for other musicians to use their work to publish yours.
Unless the publisher/developer doesn't deserve respect obviously.

i know a friend of mine who uses some libraries from AZ and then the track was actually going strong as hit song and since my friend is just in the beginning of her career i advised her to contact the company & asked for buying the libraries if they divide the price in 4 months & the company accepted the offer from her. that was wise from the company to encourage people to buy expensive products in helpful ways

Knowingly after the fact? Or didn't she say it was already released? Weird.

when she signed she did bought it at the same time 4 months later, cause when i heard her song i knew that her craft is going to be epic & i like to see members from here succeed in their careers and buy what they use during the success (try & buy when you have money)
Edit : she did ask the company like can i pay for 7 libraries for the duration of 4 months (they said Yes)

Note : for me it's better to use few libraries and few software that you use everyday and buy them cause that's what i did and never touch any other non-legit software for the past 16 months , i prefer to make music with few stuff than becoming a collector without music (by the way I'm already 111% Legit with my stuff & my advice to all people who consider using software for commercial use) buy what you use in your project or you will face problems if the kontakt libraries or other audio sofware has unique signature sounds
Honestly Selling your music or Becoming successful with cracked stuff is a little nonsense

Always use legit, fully-licensed sample libraries and virtual instruments – as long as you're using ideas you'd "got" from other musicians.

Hm, it's just strange since then you pretty much admit to using it unlicensed. Or maybe they'll never listen/never listened to the song and she just asked to buy it with a plan after signing with a label? Dunno. I just don't think that would sit well with most (?) companies (if they found out). It gives the "wrong" idea, although she ended up buying it. Anyway, I'm just thinking out loud here. Moving on...

she said to that company that she want to go legit with their stuff but the price is too high for her (they never know that she used their stuff without buying) & she never thought that she will be signed to a label anytime soon & she was considered music as hobby and she told me that she will do as i did many years ago ::: from now on she will buy hardware synths only

and this is why i would never use musical samples in my work, only thing i use are samples from movies or series which i record myself, the chances that i'll get in trouble with those is very slim as the cost for a lawsuit would be far higher than their profit would be

could it be that that's the reason why i wrote that thingie about lawsuits in that same post? dont think they would sue if i did something that was legal :invision:

In theory there shouldn't be any problem I think. As far as I read I think all libraries and loop/sample packs in the license thing of any info file says that you are free to use that (whatever you got) for your music freely, of course in this case you should/may buy them because you just downloaded and if one day trouble comes you cannot prove you bought them.
But other than that, the problem would come if you use their products to make money with it (reselling, for instance), but its destination is their products to be used in your music, not only I read that in several files but also is about logic. Otherwise it would be absurd to release something you can't use.

I have done that million times but only for underground breaks music which nobody really cares about it.

You see, the problem is that if one of your songs goes stellar with that sample you steal from someone else copyright they probably would chase you, people only care when there's money involved.

Everyone uses sample pack more and more each day, nothing wrong with that, just make sure you buy the damn license if you are signing a track with a decent/mayor label.

Also if you have made a awesome track with a very recognizable sample from an old artist you can always reproduced it yourself, this way there is not Copyright Infringement and you only have to give a part (or full) publishing of the track to the original artist.

There is many ways to go around this but ultimately buy the software you use buy the samples you use every time.

    1) What does the plugins watermark protection consists in exactly? How a software developer can tell or prove that in a given song there was used illegal version of their software?

    2) Don't teams like R2R remove all the watermarks from the plugins?

well, you can always convert it in midi file and run it true your own synth.
whole beats are remade down here, and it is usual business.

It makes no sense to release stuff with samples from packs when it can easily be redone
