I think that so many presets, without usability or something that you achieve easily with other toll do not justify the price at all.
Also they have a stupid marketing, releasing payed upgrades like expanded, generations, retuwisted and exp... new presets with same samples... only people short of creation right?
I like only Waterharp.. and I keep some presets that I may use someday... I dont think so:trashing:
Knowing them they wil start a revamped company like the In Session Audio.
Buy the way they are getting money, its not a problem with warez:deep_facepalm:
Not much respect, quantity its not quality:trolls:

The commercial value of any digital commodity is questionable - meaning that it's subject to being questioned - because it's not tied to a physical commodity. If software were only available as pre-loaded on a computer, then it would be a whole 'nother story: software would be an incentive or reason to buy the hardware.

For example: digital music - why pay for that? It's "supposed to" be free, right? I put two weeks of my life into producing a solid album with poetic lyrics and interesting arrangements and my talent and insightful distillations of life experience, and why should anyone who declares, "I listened to the sampler; what I heard of your album sounded great - good work!" drop a measly $5.00 on the download? That $5.00 would buy a cup of coffee at Scarfux (maybe plus the change from the purchase tossed in the tip jar), the majority of a pack of cigarettes or six-pack of beer, or a cheapo bottle of wine, or a pint of local "craft" beer at the hipster bar, or renting a downtown parking space on an weeknight, 1/50th of what they'd spend (all-told) going out to some local band's show, or a hot dog at a baseball game, or some hot Netflix T-n-A action, or a 2 oz. bag of gourmet organic non-trans-fat cruelty-free potato chips from Hole Foods Markup. Why oblige anyone to sacrifice discretionary purchases germane to their Quality of Life Index?

Well, because, "Man, I'm really broke - why don't you just send it over?" or, "Someday, when I get rich, I'll hafta (a word indicating that they have no intention of ever doing so) buy all your music." Let's see - being fairly prolific, I release an album or two per month, so, if they're really into what I do, would $5 or $10 a month be like skin off their scrota? So, maybe they're not that into it - or maybe it's that paying for a digital "product" seems like an oxymoron. It doesn't really exist, so why pay for it? There's no tangible item to show for it. It's no wonder why musicians are treated like UNICEF Children: "Oh, support the poor, starving, musicians who can't expect anyone to deign to pay for their recordings!" "Support live music!" "Thanks for your support - since we know that you really feel that what we do is worthless!"

So, yeah - Sample Logic charged too much for their product - so people milked the cow throught the fence instead, like they were gonna do anyway, though some people who could pay for it, and had a conscience, did.

as an Kontakt Guru you should know it i think.

its because these ones are Kontakt Player Librarys , and developer needs to pay the encoding process and the serial numbers they needs to activate it for the service center , and if the developer has just a few licenses left from NI , he run out of stock or he needs to pay another big fee to NI to get new serials for activating , but if he discontinue the librays its clear that he don´t want to pay another big fee and just sell it with the serial he has left . and believe me those fees are not cheap . thats also why you don´t needs to wonder why Kontakt Player Librays are on that high price most of the time .

P.S. this thread has become severely entertaining.

I am really into Zoey Halloway... I dont really like tats on chicks, but she's got some dark meat (cuz she's naturally dark -haired) so I love that. and she's just hot.

They can't run out of a digital product but can run out of the amount of licensed digital product they have available to use as player libraries as already pointed out.
The price then drops even more if u want a load more made after the initial whatever so they probably decided this product ain't making them enough money and doesn't warrant continuing as they not recouping enough to pay ongoing costs and maybe other fees such as scripting fees and other things based maybe on percentages of sales.
It's perfectly normal and happens in every other business. For example a certain line ain't making enough profit so it's discontinued and another is started.
As for the libraries themselves I also think they are way overpriced
At 99 dollars I probably would have bought several but not at the price they charge initially so maybe that comes down in part that they want a license. However their sales policy is down to them and they do as they see fit I guess.
However they do make some pretty good libraries which are usefull for certain things and their scripting done by the best around imho, top notch.
Too pricey for me personally at 400 dollars but at 99 well maybe. However if it not going to ever get updated & no support who knows.
Maybe they have another agenda completely and is just a tactic.
Who knows I guess if you like it and can afford it buy it and use it for making some music, if you can't then don't and find a different alternative :dunno:

buncha USELESS LiBS. ive tried lots of times to get good sounds out of those things and never could, first of all they lLOAD UP the effects and expect things to sound good, how bout getting back to the basics with decent freaking loops, that are DRY and flat to begin with so if someone wanted to tweak them with distortion or reverb they could..the guis are pretty to look at but if i wanted a picture to hang on my wall..you get my point riht.

I couldn't find any implications on their site that they are going out of business. Seems more that they just discontinue some of their products. Or am missing something?

On facebook they said: "We are slimming down our product line and focusing our efforts on future products. Spring cleaning, but in his case 10 year anniversary cleaning."
Soooooo, Sample Logic is not over, but some of their products are...

Nothing new coming from them because they think that marketing do not need to be honest!
