Anybody have any experience with Heil microphones? I want one of these for stage show eye candy. I know Mr. Heil's history in the world of audio engineering, (some of his early gear is on display in the Rock Hall of Fame) but I have no experience with their mics. http://www.heilsound.com/pro/products/vocal-microphones/the-fin

  3. Only from what I have read. Funny, I don't think I have ever looked at one, had one in my hand. What are you using it for?

I used them live for vocals. Great sounding mics! Better than my Shure beta57/58's. More clarity and presence! I recommend them.

singing old pop and jazz songs on stage. If it finds a use in my home recording, all the better. Now I feel silly, can't decide on red or blue.

I have a PR30 which I use for spot mic'ing drums. Great mic, amazing rejection, still prefer a 57 on guitar cab though .:.:.:.:..

haha, blue one for me and red one for the female singer/pianist in the trio. Bass player doesn't sing, or I'd get him the white. That would have some eye candy stage impact. Aww, no way I can afford more than one, and I really shouldn't even do that. I just like toys...err ..I mean tools.

The PR series seems to have a pretty solid fan club. Thanks.

I switched to the PR35 about 6 months ago for live vocals. My soundman says it was like magic how my vocals would cut through the mix vs my old SM58. One of the best purchases I made this year!
