    Hey there,

I'm having another sound issue. ._.

I'm using Rokit RP6G3's as my monitors, and since a few weeks I get a really annoying high pitched sound from my speakers whenever I move my mouse. The Rokits are connected to my Scarlett 2i2 via (balanced) TRS connectors. The weird thing is that up until a few weeks ago, everything worked fine. I didn't change anything in my setup really. Any ideas on what the heck to do? Thanks in advance

Had this problem ones, not only mouse but also open explorer etc the more white the more noise.
What i did was to hook up the computer independently of the monitors etc., in your outlet.
So dont share the outlets with one and the other.
Maybe just the stupiedst sollution. i dunno. Hope it helps.
    Gluck nevertheless!

some kind of RF interference. This seems to be a recurring problem with KRK's, mine included. But once I got everything grounded and good, balanced line connections, I have had no problems since. That also seems to have worked for everybody that has mentioned it over the years. But the noise could be coming from any device that runs audio signal cable. Does it still occur if you don't have any external devices in the audio signal anywhere? Are there any cables running close to your mouse. Have you tried wrapping your head in tin foil or carbon paper, in case it's just in your head?:rofl:Just kidding on the last part. I just do that to keep the aliens and government out.

had exactly the same problem using KRK. I dont' believe the Monitors are the actual problem, i think its down to the PSU. But anyhow I just used a Behringer Hum-Destroyer. This totally fixed the issue. Brilliant devices, they fix all kind of grounding problems without effecting the quality of your sound output.

I actually monitored the high pitch sound with my gaming mouse. i remember it's amplitude increasing as I increased the mouse polling rate. it was Audible at really low polling rates still though

I had that problem with a few different configurations.

    - On one the problem disappeared by changing the USB port for the mouse
    - On the other the prob. disappeared by updating the graphic card drivers
    - On the third, the problem is still present, but I learned to ignore it, since I was not able to find a solution :dunno:

THANK YOU!!!!! I lowered the polling rate from 1000 to 500 Hz and it's much more bearable now. What a weird solution tho. haha

I had the same issue with integrated audio and A4Tech gaming mouse. It is indeed pooling/refresh rate issue. Solved it by using USB Audio interface.

Glad I could help. the Hum Destroyer is worth the investment if you want it all gone though!

Move the DAW PSU to other electrical phase. Add a power conditioner to the audio gear you use, especially monitors and preamps.
Keep air conditioners, microwaves and stuff with impluse PSUs on a different powerline than audio gear.

I don't think a hum-destroyer is the good solution, even if you hear less noises.
Do you simply have shelded cables/high quality cables for your speakers?? That's necessary in a professional studio.to avoid interferences between different devices.
Also outlets with ground is advised just as connecting your different musical devices on the same powerline.(maybe two or three outlets but connected on the same electrical line).

I have this configuration in my home studio and I have no noise or interference, and my speakers are not shelded.
