    Hey guys,

Instead of residing in the negativity in which the sister forum seems to dwell lately, I was hoping to give a little back to the community. The only real problem is that my resources are extremely limited. So I've been thinking about a couple of ways to give back to the community with my limited resources as they are.

So, my actual question is, would anyone be interested if I would upload certain educational video series from instructional YouTube personalities? It would mostly be from SeamlessR but I may throw in some Sadowick and/or Mr. Bill if they aren't available there already. I'm pretty much asking this because all of the stuff I would then upload is available already by just going to YouTube and typing in the right search words. I personally ripped it from there after watching it so I have a back-up of it and don't have to look it up again whenever I want to re-watch it and freshen up on the stuff being mentioned.

Please, let me know if anyone would be interested in this stuff (like complete Groove3-like tutorials on certain Image-Line plug-ins) and I will upload them to the sister site with pleasure to make it easier for the people here to find and watch them.

    Greetings, Frank

P.S: I could also upload some foley sample packs from amateur recorders I found at some other production forums. I guess those could be good because there are so many samples already around but the ones I would upload are mostly things like power tool sounds or some guy banging pots and pans together.

    No for two reasons:

    A. More of a hassle, as you mentioned, and

    B. Those guys are already letting us watch for free. Why steal views from them? Seamless, if memory serves, is one of the few who doesn't bait you with Youtube videos and then make you pay for the "good stuff". Plus he's better than 99% of them.

It's was a nice thought, but when thought through to its conclusion I think it hurts the creators more than it helps the community.

Hmm, yeah, I did think about not wanting to steal any views away from people like Seamless because the work is awesome and free to access anyways. All the videos I actually downloaded I watched before so they are getting views off of me and I fully intent to support those guys.

Just seemed like a possible way to help the community over here out a little. As for the taking away views part I thought it could also be seen as some small promotional material for those YouTube instructors for people that come across the videos on AudioZ and go to their YouTube page afterwards. So it could get new people to watch their other stuff over on their pages since I was going to only post very particular things over on AudioZ.

Anyways, thanks for the elaboration and maybe you're right about it not being the best idea after some extra thought.

Well my opinion is not necessarily the final say. Wait and see what kind of feedback you get. Promotion... yes that's possible. But people who partner with youtube get a piece of the ad revenue off their plays.

Didn't really consider that because I'm actually quite unfamiliar with the educational part of these forums. But if I end up not posting the actual videos because the general consensus is that I shouldn't hurt the person making the videos by uploading and taking away views, I definitely will. The guy has like 800+ videos on music production, mostly bass music like dubstep, DnB and complextro. I obviously haven't seen all of them but I did watch my fair share and have a collection of ones I found most useful that I would like to share as pointed out.

As promised, here is a small list of certain things I'd advice people interested in bass music to check out from SeamlessR. If people are showing interest in this stuff and like me giving tips on what I found most useful, I'll be sure to update it down the line to make sure people can get through his tutorial stuff faster.
