i have a pretty good built computer it cn handle whatever i throw at it.but since waves has went to 9 evey release has been the same even on my old computer.the popping happens when i open it then its fine or if i turn a knob on the fx i have loaded it maxes out cpu and pops even if i just wave the mouse over any buttn without moving it it does it.i have plenty cpu intensive plugins that i have no problems running alot of them together at one time. my


and now theres more i put my uad tilt eq on and its the same thing it didnt use to do it could it be windows 10?i had the waves problem with win 8.1 and 10 but not with uad or waves art plugins(demo) do i need a new graphics card using the built in one and about the interface im thinking about getting the apollo since they are gearing up for a windows release so no biggie.

asus z97-a motherboard
1 crucial bx100 250gb ssd drive
2 2 tb seagate sata 7200 internal drives
intel i7 4790k proc
2 g skills ares 8gb ram 16 gb total (going to 32 soon )
1 corsair cx500 power supply
4 rosewill 120mm fans
im running windows 10 this has happened on 8.1 and 10 on the same maschine

Probably a sync problem.
The problem persist with different buffer settings?
And your interface is...

 

yes and sometimes it the lower cpu ones that pop i have all slate plug ins i ran run mass amounts of kontakt with all kinds of fx running or i can have a blank project and it will still do the same again no other vst does this just waves and i use a focusrite pro 24dsp but also some open and have no problmes some open and pop as loaded also once i tweak to the setting i want and dont touch it its work perfectly fine i can move on to the next track and be fine its just when there getting used at times and open

 

maybe ur fire-wire card is having issues, That's why I ditched my Pro24 DSP

I actually threw it off my front porch onto the concrete and it split in two.. then I smashed it to much smaller pieces with a ball peen hammer.

but wouldnt that cause it from others not just waves and i havnt had any problems out of it recording or anything

 

had the similiar prob with waves and cubase 8 pro I turned the asio guard off and it was a lot better
ps that was a pro 24 dsp too

 

Who knows.. im certainly not a hardware technician.. maybe something in the waves stuff is conflicting with ur ur firewire card or driver tho.. just throwing it out there..

 

That should be an Olympic event. I certainly would enjoy watching that more than the shot-put. :P

 

all though you don't mention, or would never assume this ! But Waves conflicts with nvidia drivers ! (Cuda) causing audio popping, pooping what have you and gui glitches quit often and theres several articles relating to this problem

 

Its good to test with another interface.
it happens with onboard soundcard? If só desinstall and install again the drives, and Waves too.

 

Or another Firewire card... are you using a TI card?
