Howdo folks, hope all is well

Here's the first demo of a new track i'm working on at the moment called Me & You

It's a bit rough round the edges and a few bum notes in there, but hopefuly the bulk of the main idea is there, have a little blast and let me know what you think if you would, is there potential there for it to be a good track

To me it sounds a bit like a cross between Placebo & U2

I'd give the vocals a little bit of sparkle. Plenty of pro tutorials floating around. I like the track. Keep it up mate, and keep on tweaking and polishing

 

Awesome intro. Great atmosphere. Love the vocals, though it's a bit weird they're not coming from the center.

 

It is a good song except for the vocals, they sounds false and too monotonic. You should let somebody else sing.

 

no no no! the vocals are awesome! Have you guys ever heard Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan? They sound off pitch too, but it works. Here it works as well.

 

I like the song. nice arrangement and definitely potential to be a good track with some tweaking.
I have to agree on the vocals though...they are just off. When you`re aiming for Placebo, or even U2 you should find yourself someone else to sing!
It reminds me of myself singing and that`s something you`ll probably never get to hear.... or maybe only through a vocoder... and some melodyne help...

To compare this to Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan is just not right...first of all he`s not aiming for this effect and they we`re doing something very different. There is nothing wrong with off pitch vocals, when its used in the right way. To create a feeling, atmosphere, or to express emotions!
But in this case, the monotone sounding vocals in combination with very wrong sounding parts, just cut into the feel of the otherwise emotional song.

 

Thanks for the comments guys, it is only the first demo and these vox were recorded at 4am in the house just to get the idea down, no excuse for out of tune though '0)

I do agree though, i think they're off key myself and i cringe when i hear them, but hopefuly, with a bit of double tracking and a bit of mixing i will be able to get the effect i'm looking for

Demo 2 should hopefuly sound better, if it still sounds crap, then well, it's an instrumental, or someone else can sing '0)
