    and your point is?
to me abbey road drums sound real, addictive drums don't. thats worth a lot.
abbey road drums sound in my opinion much better. they sound even better than superior drummer. more authentic.

but if you like addictive drums better, use them

My point is I will have to compose with Addictive Drums and then freeze the track with Abbey Road.

I wasn't expecting such a big CPU hit. Is this normal or is it crack related?

i don't believe it is crackrelated. why would it be? all the other libraries are the same as before, why would it be crackrelated with just abbey road drums? i dont see the logic in that.
good quality and many samples playing at the same time, randomizing function, many tweakable parameters, a solid g-eq, solid bus compressor, transient master, tape saturator, convolution reverb working makes it heavy for the cpu.

I'm running 60's and 70's drums(the 2010 version) and everything is running fine, that's why i hate updates!

I also do not see the point of this thread. Update your CPU.

Try running some other MIDI in Kontakt on a fairly intensive library with lots of scripting.... you will probably see a similar CPU load, much like Omnisphere or anything else

The Studio Drummer engine is superior IMO, so I would consider the upgrade

I use it with a set of Roland TD3 V-Drums.

My laptop isn't that old and I need to get some other gear before upgrading the CPU again. I'll just use track-freezing as a work-around.

AD, SD, EZ, Beatstation, Nerve, geist, RMV, BFD.. all under 10% CPU for me..

    Studio Drummer, Over 20%...

Something a 'bit' wrong with that from a programming standpoint imo.

They all do relatively the same thing, give or take a few different options and they are all 'real drums', sample driven, so no reason for them not to sound real, really.

I did a quick bit of research, it seems the effects eat up a lot of CPU. Lots of comments on the NI forum.

Well yeah, it's brand new and designed to work with the latest computers. You can't expect software of today to always work well with computers from a few years back

Some people with a Mac Pro 2.26 GHz 8 core & 8 GB RAM were also complaining.
