Dunno where did you heard that, but it's a bullshit. Same protection as old one.
It's not so easy to keygen (only AiR did years ago), but it's nothing special for good reverser like R2R and HEXWARS.
What sucks is that x64 version is UPX packed on Mac :/

But, you're right on the "don't expect anything soon" part, surely not from the scene teams.
But lately there were many release by P2P independents so there's still some hope,
but not for the 64bit OSX version, being packed I don't know of any P2P guy who's able to deal with it (to crack you have to unpack it, and it's custom UPX so can't be unpacked with official UPX tool).

And anyway u-he protection is not that hard, is just tricky and you have to look at it under the right perspective. Things that are really hard are others, the reasons why a proper crack for U-he was never released is the respect teams have for him, not cause they can't do it.

interesting to know Copylefter, ... esp on the osx side... I really did think that he would have changed his protection somewhat, as in most interviews I read with him was despondent with such widespread and rampant piracy on the product that he didn't even really feel like going 64bit, as it wasn't worth the time... You would think after 7 years or so, whatever it has been since it has been out, that the old air keygen at least would have been dealt the death knell.... for some reason, I still go back to this synth a lot, as it is just so damn easy to program, and not doing dub step patches with it... its just insanely still "musical" even though every year there is a new "sylenth" killer whether it be Spire, ANA, etc...

It still sounds good...because it is good ;)
I'm not a Sylenth believer, but i like it as others more recent code.
I think quality threshold for plugins was crossed a long time.
I still love my Komplexer (2008 ?). ACE and probably Synth Squad already used zero delay filters, audiorate modulation...
But i don' like Diversion, Spectral, Zebra and more, because of their audio signature (lack of punch, too bright...).
Of course, it is easier nowadays because computer power is higher, but some ppl nailed it before (like Sylenth with assembly code optimization).
There is no more excuse for shitty sound and no more "analog vs digital" with synths. I've had a bad time with Strobe vs hardware ;)

I can't believe the teams hasn't released it yet. I cracked it myself in about 40 minutes. You people overthink the protection. Copylefter is right, the protection is more or less like the old one.

I'm just waiting to see if the teams are actually gonna release it. 'Cause cracking it is obviously quite easy for the experienced cracker.
I'm gonna wait some time before doing anything. Probably gonna wait for full release before I even want to think about releasing it.

Nice day to you all :)

it's funny because they asked to Steve Aoki to demo-test their plugin while everybody know that is actually using a cracked sylenth to make his tracks.

They should add also Avicii and Martin Garrix to their beta-tester's list.

Does anyone know if you can load the old (32-bit) Sylenth libraries - god there are tons of them out there - or if there is any utility around to translate them?

    Aren't they just .fxb's?

It doesn't mean every parameter will translate - if they've changed the UI substantially who knows. But if it was a big problem i suspect we'd have heard by now - sounds like a bunch of our brothers and sisters are already taking it around the track...

So now UPX arrived on the mac also :-( Bad news but some day some group or guy will beat the shit out of this packer. Btw. As long as 32 Lives do the job on the 32 bit version i can wait patiently.

UPX is easy to unpack on windows, i practiced a few times manual and there are slo programs on windows, could be for mac you have to do it manual, but so far i know upx mac does provide unpacking like the upx windows command line tool.

harder would be some shit like Tone2 uses to protect their the same sounding plugins.

there is a tutorial on some forum which explains how to unpack aspack, upx, some crazy packer and another easy one, so you 4 different levels and learn about playing around with the header or making it hard to restore the IAT.
upx took me like 1-2 days to understand, but it was in the simply, unless the header and/or the IAT is changed after packing.

well the research on for mac is really limited, there arent a lot of mac reversers just like for everything else on mac.

They made it 64bit and there's new skins, menus and resizing, that's all there is to it, nothing changed in core

Meh. I don't know anyone who hasn't already abandoned Sylenth and moved on. Sylenth was easily replaced - nothing to miss about it. Those who are dependent on presets probably don't think so, though.

Bundling it with 32Lives and presenting it as 'compatible' wasn't the best PR move.

@krameri : Far from defending Sylenth. I have a lot of other AU´s to play with BUT. Some of the presets, from wich i start making my own patches have something wich is best explained as warmth and richness wich others don´t have. I can´t compare to Hive wich i don´t have but compared to others for some sounds i always go back to Sylenth. Call it analog feel call it dirtiness. And in combination with FabFilter volcano it is just right for me. Just my 2 cents. So critising ist always just a personal choice and point of view. What sound good for me may not be suitable for you.

Exactly, that's on what all boils down, also how one is "clicking" with given synth, I know myself, give me blind test, I will pick what's sounding more pleasing to my ears, but even if that turns out to be synth that I really don't gel with, I could care less at that point, because I could never get anything worthy from it, compared to other one that I love to tweak endlessly&effortlessly.

Think Sylenth is for many just that synth, one they feel confident about, one they love to tweak and one that delivers what they want in the end of the day, after everything, it just feels like home. :like:
