peace i tried for weeks and month to get the pinguin audio metering software to work, but it dont work with my audio profire 610 because this interface dont allow internal routing option what is needing for the pinugin software

i have searched many hours on google, seems to nobody has got this software to work with an maudio profire 610

now i have a little bit money to buy a new interface, but i dont know which is working whit this analyzer, can you help me ?

 

What version is your software and what OS?

 

i use win xp 32 bit & MasterPinguin.PG-AM.Standard.v2.3.0.600

 

I believe it doesn't work with Win 7 but XP should be ok

 

the problem is my m-audio profire 610 it doesnt have internal routing, this is the reason why i want to choose a new audio interface but i dont know which works with the pinguin meter

 

then why don't you google up "audio interface with internal routing"?

 

Hey there. I´m using a MOTU Ultralite Mk3 and Pinguin Audio Meter Standard and it works fine here. Pinguin only sees inputs so you need a way to route an output to an input. One way is to plug-in manually but I dont recommend it. The Ultralite has one output already routed internally to an input called Return so you can make Pinguin see this input and analyze just about anything. Maybe other audio interfaces offer similar functionality. Hope it helps. Would be great to see the PG AM PRO version around here, right? The best spectrum analyzer yet, for me anyway.

and how i can search a interface with these function, the description of evey audio interface dont show if it has this option or not

I guess not many interfaces offer it but you should look for interfaces with a return path or an assignable "mimic" option. I think all MOTU interfaces have this stuff.

in the last time i have bought the m audio profire 610 for 310eu but it dont works, i have searched hours on google, seems that nobody has got this interface with pinguin to work

maybe i have to buy an motu interface, i know from some guys that it works with RME too, but these interfaces are too expensive at the moment for me

 

´+#-, try to read the instructions/help file from VAC 4.
You has to configure correctly, if doesn't, don't work....
remember to configure VAC and run the "Audio Repeater" to duplicate the audio.

 

i started the audio repeater MME choose as wave in my audio interface as wave out virtual cable and start

then opening pinguin meter and choose under device the virtual cable, and the ppm meter show s blinking

whats wrong i have tryed many setting


maybe you can make a video tutorial, or some screenshots ?? on youtube are many tutorials how setup virtual cable for headspeaker

Winamp > directsound > LINE 1 (Virtual Audio Cable)
Pinguin Audio Meter > Device > LINE 1 (Virtual Audio Cable)
At these point u see the meters working

On Pinguin Audio Meter, all windows are to stay the title text in CYAN. NO RED. If the text of the windows are RED = OFF.
Right click mouse button, and select ON on every windows.

But no audio is listen, now:
Audio Repeater > Wave in > LINE 1 (Virtual Audio Cable)
Audio Repeater > Wave out > YOUR MASTER OUT
Press START for listening

If audio is playing, FL and FR show the vu meters moving.

With an ASIO wrapper like ASIO4ALLL, you can use VAC in ASIO supporting applications.

 

I don't know, but u have these mega mixer and cant routing internally ?

yes thats the mixer from profire 610 with no routing option its a joke an audio interace for 330 €

 

VAC 4 Configuration



Winamp or your software to >>> Penguin
You has to select the WINAMP output to LINE 1, and Penguin Device LINE 1

NO AUDIO IS LISTEN !! but penguis has to work....
if no work, check every windows, right mouse click, ON.





After, you need to make the repeater, MME or KS
WAVE IN > LINE 1 (VAC)
WAVE OUT > YOU MASTER OUTPUT !!!!! in my case FIREBOX OUT MAIN 1/2
Press START, to make the connection.
If ok you will see the FL and FR vumeters moving.

Here work perfect with the mme and ks.
Remember to change the buffer and priority. In the image is by default.




At these point, u has to listen too.
