WIP - The drinking

    Hi,

    This is my latest track.



    I consider it as WIP. I have a problem with the volumes of the intro. I think that at the begining the bass sounds too loud, but then when all the sounds are on I think its volume is fine. I dont know how to fix this problem, a simple volume reduction doesnt seem to fix it.

    Still Im working on the sound. Another doubt is I dont know where I am in terms of genre and sound.

    Opinions are welcome.

    Labels of styles/genre are not important. I like it. I don't think the levels are out of line anywhere. Nice to hear some dynamics, (I hear so much compression around here). Try just a little compression if it bothers you. About 4 to 1 ratio (subtle) and play with the threshold and release. Or try removing a little of the high-mids (1k-2k hz area) on the bass synth, and it will make it seem less loud, though it isn't, much, and that will also make it seem like it has more low end (subtractive EQ). The other thing I might suggest is just a hint of reverb, which also smooths things over a little, sometimes. But I'm nit-picking. Over all, it already sounds pretty good. All the parts are well defined. I like the rhythms. Rocking, for a robot/machine. lol. Great job.

    A pleasure to receive your opinions :mates:, very encouraging stuff.

    In the end, it might have been kind of worth to move my tinny studio to the attic,
    I thought I could have cooked myself in that space, bloody summer we had on here! I was clueless about the track ...

    Not just for you, for everyone attempting to lay out few sounds coherently, they should think about sitting for a while!

    I don't know for you, but audio production is one of those things that yep :wink: I enjoy doing, much more than other things!
    Time frames (measures) can also be very subjective, I guess all depends on how passionate you are about what you are doing or with who you are.
