    Hi guys.
I been working in a project but Im using two bass at the same time one more like a low pad and the other one as a bass.
My problem is that I cant take the sound of the bass up front :(
I will like the bass to have more role on the track and at the moment I just cant make it right.
I have try with eq and compression even a bit of chorus but still it get lost on the song.

    Here is an example

How can I do it? I want to hear it more clear and also heavy and round
    Any ideas?

First, you usually don't have two basses playing different notes at the same time. No no.

Adjust the filter envelope to not close down completely, or layer with a sine wave that plays the exact same pattern/notes as the filter enveloped bass is playing. You can stack sine wave oscillators on different octaves, both up and down (and "mix" their volume/level to be just right).

Then you can add some sidechain compression on the "clean low end", triggered by the filter enveloped "baooow" bass. That might give the impression that the baoow bass and the sub bass is one and the same.

    Hi man,
You must choose only ONE bass if you want a clear and punchy sound !
Remove one of the two Bass sound or Hipass your Pad.If I were you I would put a Hipass filter on your pad around 300 Hz.
Also your Bass must be in mono below 150 Hz.
And Lowpass your Bass for your pad

The boat bass is the long one right? Is it more like a low pad it have a reverb and all the frequency are cut bellow 95hz. I have it a sidechained to the bass so when the bass pays the long one goes down.
The main bass is in mono, both were recorded from bass station II
Even if I will high pass the low pad at 300hz still the main bass doesn't have so much presence :(
Been working on for 3 days already :disco:

Too much Reverb blows your mix too.Try with minimum reverb,or without reverb.
If you have a Dynamic EQ like the Brainworx BX dynEQ v2 you can also try to sidechain your pad,the bass engage the EQ.
But with 2 basses with different notes your mix will never be clean man !
Try an other pad sound,it's the best solution.
Or remove your bass during your pad is playing, also the best solution.

They play all the time together. What type of pad sounds do you recommend to be closed? even when I mute the pad sound the bass still is not very present.

Keep your pad if you like it for an intro for example, but without the bass. Then you can make a transition with an FX,mute your pad and put your Bass.
Push the volume of your Bass,EQ or add an other Bass,a sine wave without distortion below 130 Hz(NeVeR !!!),with the same pattern of your Bass or an octave lower. Then mix your two or three Basses. You can with a compressor add more punch on the transients of your Bass too!

Personally I like Pads without or few low frequencies, and a large stereo.Like that when your Bass is coming in your song, your bass has more impact, you know what I mean?

Funny voice the guy. My bass is in mono and also kick. I was talking yesterday with a mixing engineer friend of mine and he told me a track can have more than one bass but I needed to give space to it. But is the main bass I can give it presence. is getting lost in the mix
