I learned that a little discipline goes a long way. One area many get stuck in is the 'arrangement' and 'mix' stage...a lot of cats try to mix as they are arranging, they will try to make a kick track fit in with a hi hat track and all they have is 2 tracks in a project...its better to catch the 'soul' of a song first...then worry about the mixing. Part of the discipline process is to use what I call 'applied force' (Chi)...I literally FORCE myself to get something done...sometimes that means to FORCE obstacles out of my way thereby giving free space. I also psych myself up by telling myself..."I gotta be the best...I gotta get this done and be better than people around me." Like the Dali Lama says...'A true Buddhist is a master of himself."

having ADHD and finish something is the hardest thing to me. I wish it were the same about finishing on my gf:rofl:

I think know deeply about the subjects is very helpful (composing, arranging, mixing, mastering) If not it is like going nowhere.. I have seen that understand and study what I want to achieve has improved my my productivity...

I couldn't agree more with what you wrote! Honestly, it took me a long time to realize what was going on internally. It has been much easier since then and music making is more enjoyable because of it and in turn allows me to create better music, quicker. <---- run-on sentences are a side effect ;)

You know, something I just realized is that before I created my best work, I made sure to not succumb to the pressure of trying to make the next "hit" beforehand. Good thing to know.
