It could also be your midi cable or your usb port. Have you tried a different port?

I have 2 M-Audio keys that are doing great, and I've had them for years. Lyric8, it could still be your cable, but it could be your usb port on the keyboard. Try another usb cable 1st or try your present cable on another keyboard. I have had several thin cables go down, so I have started using using a heavier cable and they are working well.

Reptilex, that is why I started using better cables. I was having dropouts. I thought it was the keyboard. It could be your keyboard is failing also. Try changing cables 1st. Try another keyboard on your system, if you can, with your cable. Or, try your keyboard on someone elses system.

Make sure you press the Enable button near the device in fl studio, midi settings.

Keyboards do fail. Good luck! BTW, if you have a printer on usb, that is the same cable you use for keyboards, which could be used to test things.

I think your keyboard is an m-audio clone

what operating system are you using?

it is more likely to be a USB driver error, rather than your cable

XP has a particular problem when connecting too many usb devices to it, it creates a new reg key file everytime a (same) device is connected, and there is a limit to how many you can connect. the only way to clear it is to remove the devices from the regfile. this error was suppose to have been sorted in win7, but it sounds like a similar problem

New cable? Latest drivers? Have you opened it to see loose cables or bad soldering. If so, solder!

If not, smash it to pieces and buy a new one (better brand). That's what I would do.

I found deleting the windows prefetch folder cured my midi problem. Cant say for sure it will cure everyone's as it might have been a fluke, but it could.

    hello, Reptilex,

you might want to check too, if the automatic power shutdown is enabled on your usb ports, device manager will give you this possibility.

all the best for all of us, plus pray do exclude non-working usb connections...

You plug into main usb port? USB2 USB3? Try 2.0 port. Make sure it not usb hub like usb port on front of pc. Sometime this cause problem with certain usb things. If so try port in back of pc.

And always plug in keyboard and turn on before open daw.
