Create custom track icons with your own image files

Finally. It's a little thing but I've really missed this since leaving LP9. I had just finished making little icons of all my synths and instruments for use in LP9 when I upgraded to LPX.

Expanded MIDI clock options improve sync compatibility with external MIDI devices

Another worthy bit of news . . . Yay!

must feel great for apple to not be able to come up with any own software, but instead just buy companies and their software ...

The "introducing Alchemy" part had me confused. I thought it was strange that Apple was allowed to call their new sampler instrument, or EXS24 upgrade, "Alchemy"! Alas no, they are "introducing" something that's the world has known about for years. Somehow I had missed the news that Apple acquired Camel some time ago.

well at least we still have alchemy to use and have been using for years, so i am confident the money we put into it wasn't all to waste... i am wondering if logic will get the lovely phat/space combo too...

Integrated Alchemy...wow. well done apple. Didn't see this coming. I expected a new plugin to be developed by Camel Audio or them helping in the development of apple branded plugins. Logic became that much better!

You can still use exactly what you paid for. I too own a license for Alchemy as well as most of the expansions and they still work in even the latest version of Windows and the latest version of OSX. If you (or anyone for that matter) bought it for something that it might become, then you're a fool. In addition, version 1 was at the end of it's development cycle. There wasn't going to be any more 1.** releases. Ben himself has stated that and that they were working on V2 which was going to be a paid upgrade.

I HATE Ultrabeat. SMH. That thing is stiff. If it was anything close to Drum Racks, I'd be maining Logic pro X.

    NO FUCKN WAY!! alchemy???

    you people were right.

Yeah, Ultrabeat is a beast, but it is awkward, ugly, and I dont know, its just way the fuck easier to use ableton... like on ALL accounts. I'd purchased Logic a year and a half ago... learned it, became rather proficient with it, then, to switch things up for a bit, a went back to Live... and, of course, was able to do a gazzilion-times more things, and way faster. Have stuck with Live ever since.

Although I continue having problems with various tracks sounding out of time, and slow, or sometimes fast... which is a complete nightmare... so the past couple days Ive been bouncing things down and shifting them forward or backward to get things sounding right.

    EDIT:

WOw, no shit... Alchemy DOES look like linplug. Much, much better looking. Despite buying Alchemy, I have always hated how it looked, along with basically all camel stuff. Alchemy looked incredibly generic. Looks better.
