    Hello there good people!
    Yesterday i was making very low (A0 - A1) bass notes (60ms in length along with their release)
    using Serum.
    Serum has a flip function that makes the wave ramp in the opposite direction if the function is set at 50%.
    THE LOWER NOTEZ CONSIST ONLY OF 1 CYCLE DUE TO THE VERY SHORT TIME OF THE NOTE.
    But the note is audible, removin freqs with surgical eq etc etc...

    When the saw ramped down(flip at 50%), especially the few very very low notes were more clear regarding their fundamental pitch.

    So the question lies in wave theory, what is the difference between rampin down and up?

    A good question!

    For oscillators - there's a mixture of both - in the analog and virtual analog (software) synthesizers.
    The analog purists, including modular synthesizer users, will most likely have a strong argument over which way is best.

    However - with an oscillator, you will rarely see a choice of either or up or down, at the same time on one synthesizer.
    But you do often see a choice of either output from a Low Frequency Oscillator. Because it has a big difference to the effect on other modules of a synthesizer.
