doesn't matter how lows, my headphones give me sound from 5 Hz, but speakers from about 40 Hz..
Highs up to about 19 kHz...But in music I don't worry about higher than 17.5 kHz anymore...You can here loud sines in very high range like 17 kHz or 19 kHz, but the whole spectrum of highs like "from 18 to 22 kHz" is more difficult to hear...

You are right mate.. we are getting old.. but you know how I started to realize it? When it's taking me 2 or 3 days to recover from a hangover

 

You progressively lose your ability to hear higher in the frequency range as you age. We're getting older mate, I wish that were the worst of what awaits us. However, I'm not completely sure that it's not a problem with the video. Let's see if the young guys can pick out those higher frequencies because I sure as hell can't either.

 

There is something wrong with the audio on this video, at least for me. The sound just cuts out somewhere around 8k. I usually can hear up to about 16k even now and I am 28x2 years old.

Not any more after taking another test. I am down to about 14.5k. It was also interesting to experience the difference in frequency capture between my left and my right and seeming panning at times.

 

Don't worry you lose only 4 semitones...

Yikes. How awful to not be able to hear that high. Last time I checked (with a SUPER shoddy self conducted, unscientific test) I could hear up around 18-19. I'm one of those guys that knows a TV is on in the next room with no signal running through it. 26 years old.

My handicap is that I lost some hearing in my left ear in [American] football. Big hit, ear hole on my helmet landed flush with someone's chest pad. Knew right away something was wrong.

EDIT: I lied. On Live's Test Tone Generator I can hear up to 17.4khz. Not as good as I thought but not bad.

My coach slapped me on the ear hole once congratulating me on a good tackle and that messed my right ear up pretty good. We won the game though.

 

Haha someone joking with us with this video. He simply cut out all after15 khz, to think we are all old or have hearing problem But nontheless most people can't hear after 15, 16khz(rare), so after thirties, around 15 khz is about right. But don't wory to much, you will still enjoy music even if you can't pass 13,14 Khz. I am officially deaf after 14.9Khz But enjoying in music whole my life worth those few herz of hearing loss. I trade with that any day.

as you can see, this audio (taken from the posted mp4) is a bad sweep.
it has serious level fluctuations above ~8.5kHz and ends at ~14.6kHz, probably due to compression.
therefore it is pretty unusable to serve as a hearing test.


for comparison, THIS is a good sweep.
it has a range from ~16Hz (15.625) to ~25kHz (25398.4) with a smooth frequency response all over and no distortion.

It's not the age, it's the wrong drink.
It can take a lifetime however to find the right one

 

I can't hear those frequencies anymore, (insert old fart jokes here) and I've always had some other freq dips in my hearing. I used to get hearing tests twice a year. (I blame that guitar player with the Marshall stack in my 1st band, but snare drum rim shots don't help) I always let other people check my mixes because I only trust mine to a point. Audition has spectrum analysis, which helps sometimes. So does an RTA.

I Solved this problem of high Freq by hiring my assistant who is (younger than me)
Or if you have kids call them and ask them : did you heard that? & Is it That Good?
Note : by the way, Kids They're really honest When they speak their minds about something

10 Hz to 18300Hz on headphones (40 Hz on speakers)

3 years ago I could hear up to 22Khz.
My high frequency got lost after a lot of touring lately.
Still very good for a 21 years old.
