    We've seen hardware tools cross dimensions into the virtual world of electrical based visual illusions...what will be the next root evolution of our trusted DAWs and their plugins?

    i think maybe some more types of online integration.

    How both ableton & logic have export to soundcloud. i think there might be more routes like an easier way to have a co-lab.

    i mean there's several ways for this to be done online already with ohm studio being the best IMO.

    but i can never think of anything else that i need and then always pleasantly surprised when a new update adds a lot of new features i never knew i needed before.

    so who knows, but it's exciting. :bleh:

    in the not to far future, semi autonomous plugins that use algorithms to calculate parameters for EQ's or any plugin, basically advanced machine learning. Maybe devs will allow people to download their favourite persons tailored algorithm. Better emulation techniques for amps and the like for guitars, and bigger sample libraries with fast loading speeds.

    We will be able to press a button, go down the pub for a few hours, and then come home to a Number One hit record sitting in the DAW waiting for us :wink:

    No matter what they do... its just extra... if we cant make any kind of brilliant music now, in any genre with what we have already.. may as well take up oil painting... or bird watching.

    Brain-mapping, thought-reading software is so advanced now that, once it reaches a stage of development in general and deployment militarily (and all that that implies), it is not inconceivable that software will be able to take the music that's really and literally "in your head" – that tune that runs through your mind as you're doing errands; the sympho-cacophony that plays while you're relaxing with a cold drink; that most beautiful or sad or joyous piece or song that was playing during a dream you'd had at night (whether you remember its occurring or not) – and lay it out on a timeline, in parts; effects optional.

    Not quite as dramatic as any of the above but;

    iOS AU plugins for easy remote control/automation/offloading via iPad or iPhone and slaved to Logic on a Mac.

    Like an iOS version of VEP!

    or..

    Logic Pro.... on an iPad Pro. That could be a game changer.
