Checking Cocks forum became my daily ritual for past 7 months... I already tested some pre versions of 5.0 and some rc-s and I'm more than a happy! :dancing:
But:excl: I really want to lay my hands on that final version ASAP:excl:
btw. Reaper is my DAW of choice and I wouldn't change him for anything! :headbang:

I've used V5 beta under win7 x64, and It's very stable and working fine with vst3. When 5 is out I'll buy it, these guys really deserve the money they ask for.

This upgrade is gonna be a real game-changer. With that being having been said, going forward, Reaper might be, like, my go-to DAW, actually.

Well it is RC not beta they have released many betas and if you dont know about reaper they constantly improve their DAW as they REALLY listen to the users so if you notivce a bug report it and they try to fix it how many other DAW makers do that?
I guess they update it atleast 20 times every year.

You are wrong. You can't do that from the Reaper forum. It's from another domain.
    AND
I pointed out to AZ because is strictly forbidden to share the website where the RC builds are posted, so it's against their rules:

I´m loyal to the thread, Reaper 5.0 final release post belongs to you! :beg::bleh::mates:

Fantastic job, man. Your thread made it even more exciting and gave me the chance to follow all the release candidates, I just haven`t got any time for personal interest these days.
I`m in love with Reaper since first install, runs rock solid for me. Dare to say "it`s not an alternative DAW any longer", no idea how peeps came to label it that way. However, from now on it really can compete with "major" DAWs, Cockos won`t let low on development, so certainly we are going to see(hear) great things. A company I like to give my money to and a freakin good user community.
Thank you for this enduring and up to date posting!

Are you serious? There's no rules about reserving news posts, which is just the height of absurdity and has zero to do with being nice or not. Reaper was released, lerkjurk posted the news first but without the full post with the detailed info and demo which I had in mine so I asked him if we could combine them into one. End of story. Instead of saying thanks that him and I spent time after a long, hard day at work and in between our work here so you can have a more enjoyable experience, you're making waves over completely trivial matters. From now on I'll leave the news posting to everyone else and save the time for myself instead. What a nerve!

For me too. These guys are doing an amazing work, and they are the DAW devs that most respect their clients.
They deserve our money really !!!

so my question for all those who have seen the new reaper, if the primary way that you create music is with midi, is this a good daw? or is this better for people who record and occasionally dabble with midi? i've heard that midi is the weakness of reaper.

Depends on you, for my basic MIDI needs it's delivering, so yeah, you really need to try it for yourself
